Or an ar racer x standalone ecm. that w the autoune is in the 700+ buck range, which is fine, but not that important to me on this bike

I did a little bit of digging and actually the camshafts are different. The trail, supercub, and groms have all different part numbers

Posted below are trail then cub
There is no Unicorn! Pick a place that is suitable to ride for that bike, and when you can afford it get a another horse in your stable. Uncle Voodo You on Tube says he has same issue with SuperCub
doing Door Dash. It will do 60 mph on flat ground,no headwind or hills. It may be tuned different but what is the weight and aerodynamic differentials? The wheels are cast for one as well as tires are different, which could enable the tune to be changed for the SuperCub to give it the 5 mph boost, but only when the little motor can handle the load. I did the exhaust, front sprocket swap, injector change, and put a less restrictive air filter and unhooked snorkel before rack. It screams until you try and climb a steep grade. I do not have the problems I had with slight hills or minor headwinds like I did before.
I do not want to go any faster than 55 mph on this bike, but I can with the wind at my back or no wind. Pick your roads and time of day?day of the week and you will not to be looking back all the time

I can't pick a place nor time of day, nor time of the week as this is my daily vehicle, I don't even have a car. A little extra mph would complete this bike for me. My commute to work has one road, one lane, speed limited to 55 which is usually pretty busy, if I could push 55-60 steady on that road I wouldn't feel like an a-hole :p. Doing 50 there, kinda feels like I'm making the 20 cars behind me late to work :D. I do have a second bike, a husky 701 sm. But I'm selling it for Research and development funds to make the trail go 5mph faster lol

Thought I'd add to this thread now that I just came back from the garage. After reading through all the opinions on gearing, I decided to just change my rear sprocket from 39T to 41T and leave my front sprocket stock at 14T. I ride mostly on pavement and doubled up 30% of the time (probably 330-ish lbs), so I wanted a bit more torque for getting up to speed from a stop but not necessarily as much as a 13T front sprocket will give you (didn't want quite the rpm increase either). I'll rarely see off-road uphill inclines and I don't want to be redlining all the way around town. According to the math, a 14-41 combo should yield +5% torque at a cost of 5% top speed. Well, unlike some of you on here, even bone stock I've never even been able to hit 55mph once anyway so that didn't matter to me. Maybe it's the fact that my height basically turns me into a mainsail in the wind and the drag on my chest and face just bog the lil 8-9hp down, so the most I can get is 53-ish downhill when I tuck down.

Enter the JTR269.41

Just for curiosity's sake, I weighed the gear: 1lb 11.75oz. The OEM 39T sprocket was 1lb 3oz, no big deal.

Once I got the tire and OEM sprocket off, the new sprocket mounted right up and into the 8.5mm holes, no struggling, no shaving or grinding needed. The sprocket also has 10.5mm holes as you can see but they aren't used on this bike.

The only thing that didn't fit perfectly were the 4 sprocket mounting nuts. There's a raised inner lip on the sprocket you can see, and as the nuts were tightening the edges of their hexagonal shape would juuust catch that lip. However, it's just minor enough that as I was torqueing them down, they were essentially shaving away a tiny bit of the sprocket lip each spin and ended up seating perfectly, so I didn't have to take my dremel out. Overall, not a big deal at all.

At first, I kept the OEM 108-link chain on adjusted the rear wheel to spec, however, this brought my rear axle about 0.3" forward of the stock position (about 7 hash marks on the swingarm). I didn't want my wheelbase shortened at all, so I replaced the chain with the same D.ID. 428HD chain with 110 links. With the proper chain tension, this brought the rear axle back about 0.5" to the 3rd hash mark.

Final verdict: Exactly what the doctor ordered! Works perfectly and my butt dyno feels like it pulls better down low. I feel like I'm getting up into the mid/upper 40's a bit easier now. In fact, on the straightaways where I would need a long stretch at WOT just touch 50, I'm now getting right up into 52-53 fairly easily. I think the slight increase in torque is overcoming the drag I had before, and while the mathematical top speed has decreased, I was never hitting it anyway so it's a win-win for me.

i hope everyone with gearing changes realizes the speedometer is driven off the output shaft @ the motor, not the wheel. verify speed w gps if you have a stock gauge.

Fair point - I knew our speedos are optimistic by default and gearing down obv will only make them more so. I've been using a GPS speedo app on my phone until the OPMID comes in, and in comparing the two, the stock gauge reads about 8% (ish) faster than GPS with the new gearing.

I'm going to hope a high/low kit comes along. My old honda big red has that, I'm in low range in the woods all the time.

That was me. Every 10 miles on the highway (without any stopping) the ABS light starts flashing and the ABS quits working (fault light). Opmid, where my new speedometer comes from, said that is expected and you need a speed compensator to overcome that. They'll have one out in May. Off road, no problem because of the occasional rear wheel spin.
I installed the 13 tooth primary sprocket to, really like what it did. I get the ABS alarm too, when you find out about the compensator can you please email me the link. Best Regards

Put on the Shinko 3/0 244s. Larger OD of tires will negate effect of 13 tooth front sprocket, and the only way you can use the bike with decent tires. It wants those mods. Try it checking it then.

My bike right now is running the 2.50 SR244's on the front, 3.00 SR44's on the rear, equipped with the 13T, and my ABS light is off.

So a question for my 15/45 geared folks...what does the make the bike feel like? if you had to run on pavement is the motor screaming to get out of its own way, like pegged rpm? is it just snappier off the line? My wandering of the internets will tell me all about each gear and what the finial ratio is, but im trying to see if the bike gets more or less buzzy on the top end ect from other riders.

I don't need sleep, I need answers
