A dude in India said he averages about 6,500 miles on a Michelin City Pro rear, longer on the front. Plus the touted puncture resistance is impressive.

As a follow up I just read a pretty bad review on the these 'tyres' out of the UK. Bummer.A dude in India said he averages about 6,500 miles on a Michelin City Pro rear, longer on the front. Plus the touted puncture resistance is impressive.
oh, sorry. I was referring to Dmonkey's Ducati Scrambler. He was talking about having terrible rain performance from the Pirelli Angel GT he puts on there, and I suggested the Avon Spirit. It definitely does not come in 80/90-17. Avon has a tire called Streetrunner that does come in a similar size though. I'm extremely interested in getting them if i decide to stick to the street, or at the very least, getting them for my Wife's Supercub.I've tried to look up the Avon Spirits, but cannot locate it in 80/90/17.
that's interesting....i didn't know you could still buy Golden Boy tires. I hadn't seen them on any of the tire outlets while shopping. You think these would do better on road than a Shinko 244 for example?Im using mine in a similar fashion.. as far as street use ,the tires that are on aren't bad. I almost hate to say. I have to say, my cb1100 bt54s were awful and lasted a very short time on the bike, but avons cured it. On the CT though, as light as they are knobs 'aren't' bad option. I ran a TS185 on some 'golden boy' trial tires i think , they were -fantastic- on the street and in the rain. i mean they just stuck way better than i thought they would. and, if you are going to ride in the rain, a good option for sure. But id run as close to stock sized tires as possible. These are in my saved watched items. https://www.ebay.com/itm/272214295252

Those look awesome. Knobbies look excellent on this bike. I really want knobbies, but since I'm mostly hardtop at the moment I think I'd just wear them out tread wise prematurely.I guess I'm off, I have Golden Boy SR-244 3.0's. I thought they were Shinko's, probably whatever the mold guys do in the same factory???

Planning on a “longer” trip - FL portion of the SEAT. The rear tire will maybe make it but it has enough tread on it to work well on the front. Another tire won’t get here in time so planning on swapping them today.
Yes, I swapped them. Like others told me, just notice the rotation of the tire when you swap.I'm at about 3k on the back tire and thinking of doing the same as your post. Did you ever swap them and if so, how did it ride and are you still using it today?

Just did a 4 day 1k+ mile trip on them and it is still working great. I’ll have to replace the front (originally the rear) soon but did it later then I will next time.
Thanks Bombadier36! I think I will do the sameYes, I swapped them. Like others told me, just notice the rotation of the tire when you swap.
