The Kick start...

I'm going to ask the dumbest question I can think of. I've seen a number of people talk about how the kick start is there so that the bike can be started if your battery dies in the bush. However, mostly a lot of times FI bikes don't run at all if the battery is dead, (my wife's triumph comes to mind). I realize i've never actually SEEN somebody try to kick start it with a dead battery, so I'm wondering, will it really kick over or not?

lol that's what i mean....i don't want to kill my battery to find out, and I don't have a dead one on hand anywhere either. I might have a spare Li-on battery that was meant for another bike that hasn't been charged yet though. I don't know if that's the same as trying it with a battery that's reacently died.

Well there you go then. Sorry, I couldn't find that thread when I searched earlier. Thats awesome. I'm glad it works. Heck, even the lights and all work! You could just remove this bikes battery permanently hahaha.

I was running heated jacket and gloves on my bike, connected to the SAE cable on the battery. I notice the volts going down. When I stopped for a physiological emergency by the side of the road and took care of it. I turned the key and the bike just flashed numbers on the odometer. One kick, put things to rights and I never had another issue all day.
