Tool kit and what to keep in it?

Hey all, i'm looking for what options there are for a tool kit or bag or something to attach to the rear rack and store some gear to keep the cub running. I'm thinking everything needed to change or patch a tube, and to adjust the chain during a trip?

What are your thoughts?

dont over complicate it, buy a small waterproof bag and throw some goods in it. You can get a bicycle tube repair kit, spare tube, pump and the basic tools to change a tire in it and go ride!

You'll find some ideas here:

I carry a fairly comprehensive tool kit on my bike and it's the same tools I use when maintaining it or adding accessories at home. For long distance touring away from home, at the least I'd bring the wrenches you need to slide the rear axle back and adjust the chain, and some chain lubricant if you're going far. As for tire/tube tools, first decide if you would actually want to deal with a puncture on the spot, or get help and then deal with it at home. At the least I carry a tire pressure gauge and tire inflator. Keeping the tires properly inflated goes a long way in reducing flats other than from sharps.

I have a tool tube attached to my milk crate. And a bike hand pump. A extra tube and some duct tape in a waterproof bag. My tire irons and a few random tools are in the tube.
