Hey little buddies, made another video, this time about changing the oil and cleaning/lubing the chain on the little red donkey.

Thanks for watching guys.

Also I said in the video someone on the forum was asking about torque specs, I misspoke, that was a facebook group not this forum

Thanks!

Ha! Watched your videos during my long wait to see if I was gonna ever get one, enjoyed your content and editing and appreciate your lack of a 2 minute branded intro.
You just jump right in.
I've got a similar rectangular crate on order and was thinking about mounting it longways but when I saw yours I realized there might be an issue: is it too close to your back if you bring it up to the tubing behind the seat?
Not a huge issue either way, may make getting into the garage tricky but I'm all about the Trail so I'll move Heaven and Earth to keep this fun!

Hey thanks man I appreciate it, and I mounted the milk crate further back just in case I wore a backpack, to make sure there was adequate room between it and the crate.

This is a good idea. My doggo's backpack hits the crate and transfers vibrations through the backpack. Not the best experience. Also, super clean bike. Putting me to shame. Such a tiny space to work in! Good job making the video there.

The only thing I'd have mentioned is you want the oil plug tight, but there's no need to Hulk Smash it. The engine is an aluminum alloy, so you need to be careful not to strip out the threads otherwise you'll have a Bad Time™ and have to resort to Heli-Coil or worse.

With the force to use, as you say - don't overthink it. It needs to be a little tight, but not insanely so. Worried about it being too loose? Do it up, wipe everything nice and clean, carry some paper towels and a wrench with you and go on a 10 minute ride to warm everything up. When the oil is all warm and happy, look at the drain plug. Got any oil dripping down? Tighten it a little more, wipe off the oil, and repeat until no more oil leaks. I'd rather have it be a little loose than overtightened. It's not like it'll be dropping tons of oil unless I'm only doing it up finger tight or something silly like that.

Are you saying the torque value is 1/4 turn BEFORE it breaks? Just checking!
thanks

How often do you change the washer?

Honda recommends changing it every time you change the oil. Even the OEM one is cheap, like $3 or less. P/N: 90407-259-000

They're cheap enough that my local dealership gave me one for free with a bottle of oil.
