Being the 22 Trail has been more or less unavailable until recently now showing up at dealers for reasonable prices. I’ve really been holding out to see when the 23’s might make to the US market before I sell my TW. Now Honda is bringing the XR150 into the mix. However it has a carburetor instead of EFI. Will need to start doing a lot of research as I still have some others small bikes in the running but the XR150 sounds interesting. What are your thought? I’m looking to move on from carburetor bikes.

The Fat Tire TW200 is about my favorite bike. I have a few to choose from in the heard. BUT FUEL INJECTION is kind of what I’m leaning to. I know the 150 is carb’d but it just looks like an Interesting option to the trail 125 and wonder what others think about the comparison

In my opinion, the selling point for me was the off road capability and the auto clutch. For what this bike can do and the generous tail rack, it makes for a perfect pack mule in the woods. And with a good set of knobby tires, it will go where the XR150 will, only easier.

Is The xr125 street legal now? Sounds like the xr150 won't be if it isnt(judging that they call it a farm bikr)

The 2023 XR150L is at least EPA certified for road use in the USA. They certify differently for off-road and highway, it's highway certified. The XR125 isn't EPA certified at all or sold in the USA.

Farm or agricultural bike usually just means it's an off-road capable bike that's approachable, affordable, and prioritizes reliability and serviceability over features or high performance, making it a good fit for use on farms.

I believe the "EPA Certified for off road use" means it is spark arrestor equipt as far as USDA is concerned, allowing use on forest trails where applicable,... farm and agricultural use is "on farm, private land".

About the only thing that makes me hesitate from pulling the trigger on the Trail 125 is (THE 125.) If it came in a 150 I don’t think I’d be in on place for a very long time 👍 Its Only due to the lack of power to pull hills well is what hold me back from the Trail125. What can I say. I like to ride in the high mountains and get away from it all. THE XR150L is street legal. Some basics,
According to the EPA’s data, the XR150L is powered by an 149cc OHC air-cooled carbureted Single, claiming an output of 12.5 hp at 7,750 rpm. The engine is produced by Sundiro Honda, a joint venture between Honda and Chinese company Sundiro, and produced in Mexico (where the Honda Navi minibike is also manufactured).

The engine is paired with a five-speed transmission and comes with an electric starter and back-up kick starter.

The XR150L offers a 32.4-inch seat height, which is relatively manageable for a dual sport. The telescopic fork offers 7.1 inches of travel while the rear wheel has 5.9 inches of travel. The front wheel is equipped with a two-piston caliper while the rear uses a drum brake.

The fuel tank holds 3.2 gallons. That’s a lot of fuel for that size of bike. Even more than the legendary XR650L. It’s kind of the bigger CC, larger fuel tank and slightly more dirt road capabilities the has me only thinking about the XR150L. THE fuel injection and rear rack is what interested me in the Trail. About the only offerings the XR150L may have over my TW200 is it could possibly be a little better off road than the TW. Long ago I added larger tank, bigger pegs, awesome rear rack and a few other minor things to the TW.

What the CT-125 has going for itself is the nostalgia, it follows the CT-90's and 110's, those that can remember those bikes and their history are the 125's strong points. Simple, proven and an eye catcher, some dig it and some don't.

Does the XT250 interest you at all? Higher price, but more of a modern entry level dual sport bike. Hand operated clutch lever, fuel injected, electric start, 19 HP, front and rear disc brakes, ~200 mile range, and street legal. I have to say that hills are one area the CT125 does not excel at with stock gearing, the TW200 is more happy to tractor up a steep incline.

What does the 150L weigh? Sounds like your mind is made up though. The 125 for many of us is exactly the bike we wanted from the current Honda offerings. I have had a passport when i was 16, 2 CT-90's, CT-110, 2 vespa P bikes, and I still daily drive my 1975. Other current bikes in my sig... The 125 is super fun around town and in the woods. Push the button and it goes for the wife as opposed to swing your hips left, choke at .67 wind dependent, secret throttle handshake, and kick it. Was automatic for me, now the 125 is for her, the boy and the dog!!!

I was wanting a Honda CTX 200 farm bike.. they call it the bushlander..
Sadly, we cannot get those here in the states.. not even the Yamaha AG farm bike.. why does everyone else gets the good stuff ?
So I bought a used Yamaha TW 200..
Slowly turning it into my farm bike.
...
But this new Honda XL150. Has me intrigued.. definitely want to ride one.
Has a kick starter.. love that.
Needs a front rack.. rear rack and bash plate.
Be just about perfect for me

And the fuel tank is WHAT size? and it comes with a kick start also,as well as electric start. I would pick that one any day if It available when I got mine. I absolutely love it now,but I had to change exhaust, fuel injector, air filter, install a Yuminashi 238 cam with a 143 cc big bore kit, raise front fender and put on Shinko 244s in a 3/0 size..Modify the air intake, and re=route the crankcase breather hose to somewhere else than back into the intake. Freaking awesome, sounds great, blast to ride now. That probably added 800 bucks to the 5 grand I paid tax, tag, title out the door.

I’d rather have a monkey than xr150. The XR is pitifully weak for its size. The 250 isn’t a ton better.

Well it's now listed on Honda PowerSports US's website as the very first scrolling ad on their intro page you get splashed with.
MSRP $2,971 (plus freight, destination, setup, assembly, inspection, document fees, tax, license, belly button charge, tool & furniture rental, shop tip charge, lunch ticket fee, sit tax, stand charges, breathing fee, hold-the-door-open charges...).
No kickstart (at least not on the US version evidently). White looks great IMO!
