I'll make one last comment on this. My last new bike i bought with carburetors was a 99 sv650. I put 38,000 miles on it over almost 12 years, and the only time I went into the carbs was in late 2000 to change the main jet and pilot to for the titanium renegade exhaust. i literally never touched them after that and it never ever let me down. Its actually still being ridden by the current owner and the carbs have not been an issue. Trust me, i would know. so, theres that. (and my old f150 in the background). the old bikes are for 'tinkering' and modifying.
