I've seen Warro's video where he fits a round USB charger to the Trail by essentially filing out an existing hole on what looks like the top triple tree. Does anyone know of a charger that fits as is without the need for filing or modification? Would look similar to this, I imagine.

Not the charger you asked for, but Honda makes the 12v port specifically for this bike: Honda 08U70-K2E-J00 Kit, Acc Socket. Available from WeBike, but you'll have to get creative wiring it into the headlight bucket because our bikes are missing the auxiliary connector. Fits like a glove, and very nice quality. If you are interested, see my post on this board "Installing the Honda 12v Acc Socket on a USA ct125" from June 1 2021 for details on finding the mating connectors so you can install this without hacking into the stock wire harness.

That's EXCELLENT thank you! I'm not worried about the connection at the bucket, because (like all my other bikes) I'm buying a PDU going straight to the battery where all the electrical accessories will connect. I work in electronics so making a small harness is not an issue. Perfect solution, thanks!!

I got a 12v socket from CycleGear that threaded right into the empty hole next to the ignition. Then I can just plug in a usb adapter or use it for my auto air pump or whatever. Coffee mug warmer? 😝
It was tricky getting the wire down to the battery, and It's closer to the engine than I'd like. I may try to route it again.

It has a waterproof rubber cover too!

So the Honda 08U70-K2E-J00 Kit arrived today, but it's a cigarette lighter type socket instead of USB. I was really hoping for a dual USB. Cost me almost $50 to get this here, and I only took it out of the bag to inspect it. Never used. If anyone makes a fair offer, I will pay for shipping to get it to you within the lower 48 US states.

Sorry, I tried to be clear about the fact this is a Socket, not a USB adapter. Certainly didn't mean to mislead you! I found an Amazon Basics Lightning car charger with an 18" coiled cord to go with it, super inexpensive and does exactly what I was looking for. The "K2E" in the part number confirms the socket is specific for the CT125, though just to be clear I'll remind everyone that our USA version does NOT have the connector in the headlight for this. As I mentioned above it isn't hard to construct a couple of harness extensions and grab power (switched or unswitched) and ground within the headlight. Though certainly not the cheapest solution, I am very pleased by the socket quality and fit, and not having any modifications to the stock wire harness or any wires strung back to the battery.

Nah, my fault for not looking at the pictures more carefully. No problem. I'm selling this one in the classifieds if anyone's interested, for half price of new since I will pay for shipping.

So I went to Electrical Connections in Knoxville TN, I had already ordered a Honda socket Part # 08U71-K87-A30. The socket fits perfect, even has the key to fit the notch on the bike. Lewis that owns E.C. made me a harness that plugs into the the front light without having to go direct to the battery. This harness is about 6 inches long and fits perfect, He decided this would be a product that many of could use, so he's going to start selling them. It's not up on the website yet, but you can always call him. 865.219.9192

I wound up installing this $14 from Amazon. It's metal, has a waterproof cover, and an integrated voltmeter. Can't complain!

I put this one my bike.
From Amazon, has volt meter power button, and supposed water proof cover. (Will see) had to file the hole just a tad. Took 5 min. Wiring to battery took 10 min.

FYI, looks to me if you pick up the USB charger for the Super Cub it includes a connector that will plug into the 4 prong diagnostic connector by the battery. You don't get the bar mount but you don't need that on the Trail anyway.

KITACO : USB Power Supply Kit [757-1310000] (webike.net)

On the pics on Webike one pic shows the 2 prong connector just like the kit for the Trail, others show what looks like a 4 prong connector. Also if you watch DiBinChe's install it clearly shows a 4 prong connector, he's using the same part # as shown on the Webike link above.

I bought the kit specific for the Trail and as mentioned above the included connector doesn't plug into the US bikes. So I had to figure it out with wires in the headlight bucket, but this would me much cleaner. Live and learn.

Be careful with these 12v sockets. Some of them have a broad ground contact that extends high up inside the socket and if you insert a plug slightly askew it can short out the circuit. I wired mine directly to the battery and blew a couple of fuses before realising what the problem was. Probably best to position any holder somewhere that doesn’t entail removing the plastics in order to check or replace the fuse

And of course ensure that the supply to a USB adapter is powered by a switched source to avoid the 12 to 5v power conversion draining the battery overnight!

I haven't had any problems plugging in anything, but I did blow the fuse trying to run a 12v air compressor once. And I always use a light up adapter to help remind me to unplug it!

Hi,
Arrgh! The threads on this USB thing are too big to fit in the 3 CM hole. I have to get a DREMEL tool now and grind the hole about 1 mm bigger.
That is normal and is mentioned just about anywhere you see people not using the more expensive Kitaco kit.

If you are unhappy with the dremeled version and need to replace it later, STAY, METER - P/N 61350-K2E-T00, replacements cost ~$45.

Thanks. How in the world do you find out this stuff?
