Yes, my experience with the USPS has been poor. Our carrier is great but whenever a sub does the route things go haywire. Not so long ago a sub was on our route, my package was "out for delivery". Well, the package never arrived. Next thing I know, it was returned to the sender for no apparent reason. Through the years I have seen a good deal of these types of blunders. I've also experienced issues with FedEx too. They like to destroy packages. My best luck has been with UPS.

When I first started working you had to take the civil service test and if you passed it was nearly impossible to get on. Now they are begging for help and just about anyone can. All the time seeing them busted for theft especially in the cities. Don’t get me started on “lost” Mail in ballets.

At the risk of sounding like an old man saying, "back in my day..." Australia Post is a shitload more expensive, equally unreliable, less frequent delivery, with more junk mail because the junk mail is hand delivered instead of going through the postal service. USPS has been awesome to me and frankly I find them to be astonishingly good value for what we pay. If we choose to pay more... well, that's where Fedex, UPS and DHL all come in as options, of which only DHL has reliably given me tracking information and FedEx and UPS have both got even lower satisfaction ratios than USPS for me.

I've had a pretty good experience with USPS. The biggest issue I've had is permanent address redirects that weren't so permanent, and occasional delays. I'm also pretty bad at checking my mailbox though, I go out there like once a week.
