Warranty - Only for original owner ?

Bought a friends Trail with barely 600 miles on it, great bike, no issues. Got to thinking what would happen if it needs "warranty" work done here at the local Honda Powersports/dealer. Wondering if it's under warranty regardless if I'm not the original purchaser ? Anyone have any idea ?

The dealer might be better to answer that.... We could say yes, transferrable and they could say no. Most vehicles have transferrable warranties but I have no idea.

I'm almost certain that the factory warranty is transferable but don't know for sure either. Honestly I've yet to hear of anyone on this forum or the other one I frequent having any issues which required the use of the warranty. These bikes seem to be pretty bulletproof.

The manufacturer warranty is 1-year transferable, unlimited-mileage. The manufacturer warranty is tied to the VIN so you transfer it just by transferring ownership of the vehicle. If your friend bought some extended warranty like Honda Care that is transferable too, you would need to fill out paperwork with a Honda dealership to get that transferred.

Thanks to all, will talk to the local dealer to verify. First answer I got from them was "Not sure, we'll get back to you". And of course they didn't LOL.

Worse case if you need something have your friend take it in.
