Where I learned to ride

Here is a full ride from bottom to top of the trail close to my house, this is where I learned to ride (also the trail I "crashed" on) GoPro lies about steepness of course, but as a beginner, I can't think of a better spot. A mix of terrain, rocks, dirt, clay, even some easy water crossings not shown. I always feel safe as there are always people up there, and I stuck to the main road when I was learning.

Enjoyed your video. And yes, the GoPro flattens out the steepness. Really like the mirror extenders. Where did you buy them? And what tires are you running?

Thank you! Just my 10 year old GoPro strapped to my chest when

Mirror extenders are these from Amazon. I got the black ones when they were $30 CAD

Tires are just stock tires. Yeah, they aren't great. There's a couple points in the video I loose the backend, hard to see with the chest mount mind you

There were a few times when the bike got a bit squirrelly but you recovered nicely. Thanks for the mirror extender info.

Dia1Up, A very enjoyable video and I subscribed to your channel. The chest mount camera aim was perfect.. not too much sky and not too much ground. Much better than a helmet mount where the aim is often too low or too high and the view goes from side to side instead of straight ahead. I also think you have the perfect tires for that ride. I wish that trail was close to me. I am curious about the gate at 13:00 in the video. Was that an old property line from back in the day or something still in use today? The only suggestion I would make is when you got to the end and made it to the lake, you should have kept the camera rolling, adding another 30 seconds to the video where you get off and and step back a bit, and show the Trail 125 with Violin Lake in the background.

Noted!!

Heh that gate is indeed an old no trespassing gate. There's actually 2 on the way up. If you look carefully you will see the first one too. This lake is where the city got all its water from back in the day, and still currently belongs to the city. Going to the lake is indeed technically trespassing. However, it's been 30+ years since the city stopped using the lake for water, and since the very beginning, people have been enjoying the small beautiful lake. My mom was going up there when she was a small kid even 50+ years ago.

Both the Rangers and police know how many people go up there every single day and turn a blind eye, thankfully everyone that goes up there are amazing, and generally keep it cleaner than it was when they got there. (There was a really bad storm this summer, and someone or some people went up and cleared the trail for everyone)

I make it a personal mission to pick up any bit of trash I see up there. I want to keep it clean and safe for everyone. So far since June, and going up almost every day, I've only seen a single bungie cord.
