Sweet! I dont mean to doxx you but I've been seeing a guy in my neighborhood in Rock Hill riding one around and I'm so jealous, lol. I have been on the waitlist for one a RHPowersports forever, but they seem to skip over me. Are you close to the Pump House by chance?

haha, I'm happy you snagged one! I'll look out for you at Grapevine next time I go down. Do they announce the bike nights somewhere or does everyone just show up?

I think the dealers can gouge all they want.
I got out the door for 4553 including tags, tax and title.
As we were writing it up the dealer says oh look. we forgot to charge freight. Don't worry about it.
Needless to say, I will be getting all my service and parts from them.

Question for the experts. My local Honda dealer in Concord NC (RideNow) told me they had one in stock. I drove over there and they said sorry, just sold it but we have a few others we can pull for you from other dealers. i went through the paperwork and the guy hands me a proposed price of $6500!

I forget all the line items, but there was about $800 in origination fees, $800 in "build" fees, some for taxes, etc but I walked out because it was $2500 over the sticker price. What have you guys paid in total for the Trail 125 and where can I haggle with these crazy people? Thanks in advance for any advice or details you can share!
I’m in Troy, NC and have been trying to deal with Cycle Center of Asheboro and Sport Cycles of Rockingham. I currently have a deposit down at Sport Cycles and my bike was supposed to have arrived in July but keeps getting bumped every week. Now it’s scheduled to arrive the end of this month but I don’t expect much.
I don’t have a quote from Sport Cycles but I did have one from Cycle Center of Asheboro, $4500 OTD. That quote was from January but I ended up pulling my deposit from them and going with Sport Cycles.
The owner of Sport Cycles, Jerry Covington, has been super nice through this whole ordeal and I kinda feel sorry for him being stuck in the middle of a cash paying customer ready to buy and a manufacturer/distributor that repeatedly fails to deliver the goods when they say they will. It’s the world we live in now.....

Hopefully my CT125 will be delivered to the dealer by early October. I finally saw one about a month ago at Deal's Gap Motorcycle Resort. WNC/ETN

I’m in MA. Most of the shops haven’t given me a quote, they just want a deposit and put me in line. The one guy who did give me a quote had it at around $4,500 out the door, excluding tax. Tax would be another $250 or so. That is basically sticker price plus freight and doc, but it doesn’t matter how much the guy who doesn’t have one wants to charge you, if you want it that bad the guy who has one will charge what he can.

My advice is that if the guy who wants to charge you $6,500 is getting the bike from another shop, you should call every shop within a few hundred miles until you find the bike and see what those guys are charging. We’re in one of the worst seller’s markets in a really long time due to supply chain disruptions and high demand. Cars and trucks are just as bad, depending on what you’re looking for. A friend who just bought a Subaru Legacy was quoted $4,000 over sticker by one dealer before he eventually found one for MSRP.

@Carolina Vagabond in fairness to Honda, they probably have a lot of units stuck on boats and in ports in addition to manufacturing delays. Cycle Design and other dealers have told me that they don’t know when they are getting stock, it just shows up.

The latest disruption is companies like Amazon paying extra to guarantee space on ships and getting things moved at port, so a lot of companies are being delayed or bumped entirely and can’t move inventory sitting on ships or docks. I think the Wall Street Journal or Bloomberg Business had an article about it last week.

Rider is correct. I know for a fact there's still a BUNCH or ships that cant unload yet, just waiting, and thats just 1 part of the problem.

I heard yesterday that there were 50+ container ships floating off the coast of California waiting to be allowed into port. I bet it’s more.
Anyway, my issue isn’t with the lack of supply, it’s with Honda distributors showing the bikes as shipped to a dealer. The trucks have even shown them on shipping manifest (according to both dealers I’ve dealt with). Trucks arrive with no bike and not much of anything else either. If the dealer has given a buyer an approximate date of arrival an no bike shows, it makes them look like liars. That’s why I feel sorry for the good dealers during this mess. Lots of potential to lose lifetime customers due to someone else stringing the dealer along. If Honda doesn’t have a bike to ship, just say so.
I’m very patient and in no rush but most folks ain’t. I just like an honest answer up front, good or bad, and Honda has dropped that ball.

It sounds like you are seeing something different than what I am hearing. My dealer said Honda isn’t even telling them what they are getting or when because they don’t know. Bikes just show up. This guy only has 6 total new Honda’s at the moment. Part of that is that as soon as he gets a desirable bike in, it’s gone.

They asked $5800, I pretty much told them I buy it but let it fly, Been a part of the off-road community up here for a bit, volunteered, opened trails for them, the only shop in town. They are a chain that bought the local shop 2 or so years ago. He let it go for $5300. I won’t buy a spark plug there…. Which they would need to order!
