I've been keeping an eye on CT110's anywhere remotely close to where I live too, just because why not... and this is easily the best condition, by far, that I've ever seen.
Where are ya? I know of a pretty clean 110 for sale, not like the one above but pretty nice.

Thought I'd mention that after 20 days of no bikes appearing anywhere on Motohunt, 3 trickled in over the last few days. My worry is that we've been given a nibble, but it's a symptom of unloading and slowly clearing the containers: that we'll see periodic trickles, but no actual supply lines restored.

Yeah, and with the stop sell order/recall, nobody is in a hurry to move these right now. I am going to pester my guy again tomorrow.

The day is mine! The pics aren’t great, but 6 hours driving in torrential rain, and getting turned away by the RMV, and the wee beastie is in the garage.

Now I get to see how long it takes Mrs. Rider to realize I bought a new bike.

Grats on getting one. It is now 3 December 2021. My local Honda dealer has no info on 2022 Honda Trail 125 at all.
I called Honda sales customer support in CA - no information either. Is Honda discontinuing the Trail 125?

No, it’s just supply chain delays. Most dealers have 10-20 deep deposit lists for these bikes, and lists for other bikes as well. I am outside of boston and some dealers have fewer than 20 new bikes in inventory.

The '22 trail is announced and already on the move in other markets outside the US. Given that it already exists. If we were getting one in the states I'd wager it would have already been announced. The same goes for the 22 super cub. I dont think we're getting one guys. The 21 trail is looking exclusive indeed.....

It was spoken for but yesterday, for the first time ever, I saw a new bike pop up just 250 mi from Seattle just outside of Oregon. Today the listing is gone, which is probably because I called them literally the minute they opened and asked lol. The sales person hadn't even seen it yet, and I was all "Yeah you probably should remove that otherwise you're gonna get people like me calling all day long"

EDIT: and another one today in Washington! First Washington bike. Looks like they are making their way over here for Christmas. Maybe they thought that we'd be willing to ride them back from wherever they were in the summer months and just shipped to the warmer climates then 😂

Today I received a call from my local dealer (2 mi from my house!) that a CT125 had found its way into his dealership. This guy is a straight shooter but I suspect he'd be really tough to cut me a decent break on prices right now.

"You can't buy it, but I know you haven't been able to sit on one so you can figure out if it fits you or not if you come in before we close." Zipped down there and finally, FINALLY answered a burning question in my mind: Why doesn't the CT125 have an oil window to check the oil while the C125 does? Well, they had two side by side at the dealership and I realized they repurposed the kickstarter outlet on the C125 into a window. Smart.

I rocked up in the gear I'd expect to wear while riding to get a really good idea on sizing. Definitely felt the heel shifter being inconveniently placed with my size US-12 shoes. The bike fit better than I expected. The tires were skinnier than I remember and reinforces to me that if you think of this as a non-high end MTB bicycle in terms of capabilities you will have a good time. We had a discussion about a CRF250 as a possible alternative; "you'll have a lot of fun with one of these" was guaranteed, but "my skills are more in the realm of a TW200" also applied.

At this point, I'm pretty much just mapping out every nice dealer to swing by and thank them in person. These guys are closest to my home so I'll probably be booking a service with them at some point in the distant future. You really do meet the nicest people on a Honda.

Something that the dealer mentioned was come January 1, 2022, all bikes are going to be slightly more expensive ($100 more) due to pandemic distribution networking issues. I also asked what the "out the door" price on the CT125 was before i left - $5299, inclusive of all fees and taxes, in Seattle, WA which has ~10.5% sales tax. That's fairly consistent with the fees and charges from the Portland dealer, only their sales tax valuation was different.

Nice! I am only 9-1/2 and my heel hits the heel shifter a lot too. Adjusting it is on the short list of things to do. I don’t know what they were thinking with the stock position. If riding position was more forward like on a sport bike, maybe the stock shifter position would work, but with the upright position, your heel is almost always touching the shifter. I usually angle my heel out to avoid accidental shifts.

Yah, that was my impression as well, to the point I have a note in my "when you get the bike" folder for how to adjust it. It's a task that's easy enough that you could do it in the dealer parking lot, but it does require lowering the entire skidpan assembly rather than just undoing a bolt. I have a note here that it's 4 bolts (2x10mm, 2x12mm) plus a pinch bolt, rotate it on a splined interface and you're done.

I'm 6'0" and the video I pulled those notes from has a rider of similar height; he rotated it forward one spline which lifted the heel portion 2.5". I'm more flexible than he is, but that only works if you're not wearing moto boots. The second adjustment I saw was for someone to cold bend the shifter inwards using a vise, so their foot could stick out the back and the lever was there, and reachable, but you had to turn your heel inward to hit it. Neither of these are bad options.

Since the shift lever mod is kind of substantial - the number of splines available is probably 32 so about an 11 degree rotation with a fairly long lever - it's pretty easy to spot on a lot of videos who's done it and who hasn't when you can actually see the lever. Ang from Some Guy Rides drops the bike in Ep 19, and while it's on the ground you get a good look at the bike and can see the shift lever looks like it has been rotated. Interestingly Warro from down under left his completely alone. Maybe he knows some trick we don't. IIRC he's actually on the forum so he might pitch in a comment. @warro - if you're there mate, would love to know what you think.

I still believe it is not a heel shifter but for tapping with your toe on the back. Aka flip flop shifter, the predominant foot wear in the world’s largest market for these bikes!

Good info, thanks. It might be set that way intentionally. For my use, the toe shifter is so far down that I can’t get my toes under it, so that’s a problem for me. I have to use the heel shifter to upshot and the toe shifter to downshift, and neither are in the right spot for me.
