Large rider fixes for the front and rear suspension

I picked up the CT125 from the Honda dealer last week, with my new springs installed - I rode the bike to Costco yesterday and back (3 miles of city) and am liking the lack of front-end dive under braking. I'm interested to further test this solution - I've only one the front thus far. FWIW...

Large rider fixes for the front and rear suspension

I too am concerned about my ability to do this. I’ve got a call into my honda powersports shop for a few things that I want to do - this is one of them.

Winter Riding in the Midwest & Mods

I rode on city streets with max speed of about 35 mph on my way to my first appointment this afternoon - 4 miles north of downtown Chicago in Lakewview. I don’t have the hand guards on so no hippo hands. I wore my Revit “winter” gloves and my fingers were really cold by the time I got to my...

Winter Riding in the Midwest & Mods

The moment of truth has arrived. A REAL test of the winter setup. I’m riding to a doctors appointment and a dentist appointment - 5 miles north and 2.5 miles back south & west. According to Tim Apple, its 43 degrees in Chicago with 10mph winds from the West. I’m wearing my Spidi Winter riding...

Winter Riding in the Midwest & Mods

Three attachment points: 1) the screw that holds the “tunnel” plastic on, right by the steering head and then there are two attachment points that look like those clips used to hold electrical conduit in home construction that attach the lowers to the stock “engine bars” (one on each side) I...

Winter Riding in the Midwest & Mods

I’m going to get a chance to properly test it out tomorrow! @BaldRider the only reason I’m even doing this all is because I decided to not ride my recently acquired, super-clean, BMW RT in the salt - I rode my last two BMW’s year round and while they are pretty great for cold weather riding...

Winter Riding in the Midwest & Mods

Thanks. If it keeps some 30 degree wind off my body, I’ll be thrilled. Maybe tonight I can give it a test run - I need to go to a store in the West Loop and dare not drive anything other than the CT over there because its annoyingly busy over there and the CT is small / nimble enough to dart...

Winter Riding in the Midwest & Mods

Well, it pays to take a small break. I loosened the bars and moved them around until I could get the windscreen bracket lined up. I then rotated the bars in the clamps until they were close as possible to the right position. I’m happy with the results [while the bike is stationary]. We’ll see...

If I could loosen the bolt pictured and rotate the fitting that attaches the brake hose, even one inch in either direction, I’d be fine.

That’s above my pay grade, I think.

Winter Riding in the Midwest & Mods

Well, I did some test fitting this weekend. Windscreen: I cannot fit it because the brake plumbing is directly in the place the windscreen support wants to be. I looked in the service manual and it’s unclear as to how / or if I can move this The leg shield is bolted to the top yoke on the...

Size comparo to a standard 12oz aluminum can. I don’t want to take off the entire protective film until I get it on the bike because I tend to mess things up. I was somewhat surprised to see how “small” this “large” windscreen is. I’m going to try to put it on the bike later today and of...

I put a bit of fabric tape under the clamp parts but, otherwise everything went together VERy easily. Time invested in assembly: less than ten minutes.

Not quite as big as I was hoping. I guess my years of experience riding BMW GS’s and RT’s with BARN DOOR windscreens has messed with my expectations. Looks easy enough to assemble (nothing will be tight so I can adjust it later when I stick it on the bike).

One leg thing. One “big” windscreen (more on this in a moment) And one “meter protection film” (I’ve had a bit of automotive PPF stuck on there that I used a coffee cup to cut out) that is properly sized for the CT125 gauge. My wife loves it when I use the dining room table for motorcycle...
