Just picked up my Scooter Cannonball 2025 ride.

Looks nice. Too bad we can’t get them in Canada.

    Shift pattern Canada

I’m used to it now, doesn’t both me. My secret is to always use the heal and toe shifter with my foot on top. I don’t shift down with my toe under the shifter. This way I don’t get confused with my other bikes.

    Instant regret?

I’ve always had a scooter as a little brother to my main motorcycle. I am a scooter boy at heart. I love bigger bikes for touring as well as short trips but the Honda Trail is my favourite for smiles per mile. Even if it’s a 20 minute ride after a tough day at work, it’s feeds my soul. I don’t...

You could be right about that. I will need to try and replicate the next time I go out.

It will start with the kick stand down but if you try to move with it in gear it will stall on you. I found out at the gas station, couldn’t figure out why it kept cutting out as soon as I tried to move. Thought I had bad gas then saw my kickstand was still down.

Glad you are getting used to it. I also bent in my toe and heal shifter since my feet are size 13, made it much more comfortable. There is a video on you tube. The shifter comes off easy without having to remove the foot peg. Some videos show guys taking the foot peg off, maybe for the previous...

Introductions - True North Strong and Free!

Took me a day or 5 to get used to it. I find that so long as I use the heel to gear down I don’t get confused. Certainly had a few times where I went to up shift with my toes pushing up to hear to motor screaming. I’ve got around 300km on it now and feels comfortable. I have taken my Goldwing...

I ordered the Honda front rack and centre rack through the dealer when I picked up my Trail on Saturday. Front rack was around $120 and the centre rack was $100, can’t remember the exact cost but was around those numbers. He had the 2023 online accessories brochure that I could pick parts from...

The drain plug for the oil has a 12mm head, I believe the previous gen motor had a 17mm head. I replaced with the MP01 gold plug which has a 17mm head. Bolt and threads are the same on the OEM just the head revised from a 17mm head to 12mm.

The previous engines had the same shift pattern with the USA having different. Probably why they stopped selling the CUB in North America if the had to change the shift pattern just for that market. Only guessing here.

Other than the USA having gear changes opposite to the original design and not being able to rotate to neutral when stoped. Is there any other changes? Would be good for us in Canada to know as I do sometimes order parts from the USA.

    Thanks, makes perfect sense now.

    Shift pattern Canada

Yes, when stopped you can go from 4th to neutral but not while moving. Haven’t tried neutral to 4th. Still my curiosity is why would the US have a different pattern? I do think the US would be more in line with a traditional bike being that you shift up to go up in gear, except 1st. It has been...
