    Throttle body questions

I would think with the right size injector it would run fine, to be sure it would be a really good idea to use a wideband O2 sensor with an AFR gauge to make sure it doesn't fall into a lean area under load. So maybe start with the PCX injector and work up if needed, or tweak the efie to add...

    ECU Connector question

Funny story, (well funny now) almost a decade ago I got in hot water with GM legal for publicly sharing some very simple code to brute force the seed/key on another automotive platform, that even at that time was defunct. So needless to say, I won't be making that mistake again! Lesson learned...

    ECU Connector question

Yep I get it, in the same boat. From what I can tell so far (being a noob to the Grom/125 tuning world) is the seed/key has been cracked on the OG ECU's, (allowing flash read/write over the K-line) such as the ones Woolich supports, (ie: 38770-K26-901) but apparently a little "brute force"...

    ECU Connector question

Yeah, this would really be for the rare case to run a non MAP (alpha-N) setup (think Grom throttle body/idle solenoid) on a speed density (MAP) bike/scooter, such as the trail. The throttle body and ECU are kind of a package deal with these since they use different sensors/solenoids. Not what I...

    ECU Connector question

Just curious if anyone has seen an ECU adapter pigtail for the 33 pin (OG Grom Style) to the later 36 pin edge ECU connector? I know some members are well seasoned Grom gurus, so through I would ask before I go to the trouble of cobbling something on my own. Probably a question more suited to...

    Throttle body questions

Gives you a rough idea how far off the holes are, pretty minor difference. For "proof of concept", I may just slot the holes, in the TB since it was cheap lol

    Throttle body questions

Yep that's one option. There are a couple areas of the manifold flange that interfere with mating up to the TB, near the top where the IACV mounts, and on the TPS side - but a little trimming with a die grinder would fix that quick. Could also tig weld the mounting holes in the manifold and...

    Throttle body questions

Update: Looks like a slight mismatch on the scooter style TB bolt spacing from the Koso manifold to the Z125/ADV150 TB. Manifold: 71.62mm spacing (33.8mm bore) 32mm ADV150 TB: 64mm spacing (32mm bore) From what I have read a Grom TB has the bolt spacing about 64mm, so not sure if the Koso...

    Throttle body questions

A little deeper down the rabbit hole, using a MAP sensor, the CT125 would appear to use a speed density strategy for fuel metering and spark, whereas the Grom's are more of an alpha-N strategy (no MAP). So I can see why they used vastly different algorithms in the ECU code. For grins and...

    Throttle body questions

I could be wrong, but it looks like the TB's for the Z125/ADV150 look very similar, with variations in the sensor part numbers. It uses a MAP sensor at least. So I ordered a cheap 32mm TB (for PCX150) from aliexpress to do a little R&D on and see if this is an option. At least the sensor block...

    Throttle body questions

Ok cool, thanks for confirming. Yeah this is a bit overkill for my needs, but it's what I had. Long story, but I had picked up a well used OG grom when I lived in CA. Got all excited and started buying parts to redo the oil starved stock motor in it. Only to find out the bike was stolen 😒. So...

    Throttle body questions

Been doing my 'homework' on doing a big bore on my 22 CT125, got a LOT of good info searching various threads here. Where I get confused is with the 5pin vs 3pin MAP/IACV/TPS lingo. From the service manual I see the CT has a 5 pin connector for MAP and TPS, but only three wires. I am assuming...

Had to have a red one

Yeah, I think I just have an old fart stigmatism, I like my KTM's orange (easier to find the parts when they fall off lol) and I like my Honda's in red for some reason. But I do like the other color variations, just wish we had more choices here in the states.

Had to have a red one

Cool, I have heard about that one, it's just a bit over 2 hours from me so will definitely have to put it on my calendar for June. Years ago I used to do the 300 mile "iron man" rides when I lived out west. But im too old for that stuff now lol

Had to have a red one

Thank you! Yeah it would be a blast to do a 'small bore rally' ride together sometime. I mostly go exploring the backroads of eastern Tennessee when I can make the time.
