First REAL ride on my scoot

I got a bit over the 300 mile mark. I drop on the 13 tooth sprocket cuz I wasn't pleased with the gaps in gearing, the gearing gaps are much closer, the scoot and I are happy with that mod!!😁 I figured the K&N type air filter and snorkel, sprocket before I jump on the most expensive parts,(...

First REAL ride on my scoot

Finally, a nice day in N.E. Pa.! Took my," Utility Bike", ( name for my bike) out to run some errands, test ride. So far, K&N style air filter, with snorkel to breath easy,( least it SOUNDS kinda like a bike now)! 1 tooth smaller front sprocket, tightened up the gearing well. Top speed was 59...

    This is my ,"Red Rider"!

Same here! Before I get a, " better exhaust system", I'm gonna run some miles on my, " utility bike"! Half the fun of owning a machine is to keep tinkering with it, til it runs like sh**! Then go back! Joe

    This is my ,"Red Rider"!

Tanks! Installed the 13 tooth front sproket. It'll lower first gear, but, I'm hoping it'll tighten up the other gears, maybe make 4 th gear pull a bit more. I keep seeing these bikes on FB, much more modified than what we have. The last one I saw, had a different rear fender that looks cool! Joe

Why did you buy a Trail 125?

Spent the last 60 years riding on some sort of motorized 2 wheels. Raced MX, Hare Scrambles, Enduros, Trials. Ate up a Lot of asphalt on a road bike. Had Harley's, an Indian, Royal Enfield, Triumph. Retired now, don't really have the ," itch" to hit the roads and tour, but, still want to ride...

    This is my ,"Red Rider"!

I did some things to my '21 ," Utility Bike",( its not a bike, not a scooter, so....). Tossed the tiny air filter, (for one that looks like a K&N) as well as the rubber snorkel for a Diablo end cap, let it breath in better, ( stage 1, stage 2 is the exhaust and bigger injector a bit later)...

    Performance mod, thoughts, Opinions, suggestions.....

Rodger! I'm making list of parts, more importantly web site where I can get parts, as well as u tube posting and threads like the one you mentioned on ecm and other threads that may come in handy. Joe If only I could keep my hands and tool away from my, " toys"!

    Performance mod, thoughts, Opinions, suggestions.....

Tanks! Mine is a 2021-JA55. It IS a strange adjustment, coming off a Triumph 900, years of racing MX and Ensures on 125 2 strokes that made WAY more HP. This scoot is what I thought it'd be. I'd doing the mods in order of cost, air filter being cheapest. I have 2 HD s poster mufflers on the...

    Performance mod, thoughts, Opinions, suggestions.....

Was a pretty nice day the other day here in N.E.Pa., (45 degrees and cloudy). Had some," running @ to do, " Sh##, I'll take the scoot"! 300 miles on it, got a flat open stretch of road to open it up, 53 mph top speed, a bit under powered on hills. I bought it for buzzing @ town, so, that's sorta...

Well, is NOT the way to start out!!!

Hmmmm, that's for that input! Let's hope I don't have to look at a rear tire tube until I wear this tire out! I think perhaps I do that KLR tire fix when I do have to tackle that jib again. Joe

Well, is NOT the way to start out!!!

Perhaps the bike wanted me to know WTF is the boss??!! Last flat I had on a road bike was many, many years ago on a Vulcan 900 about 60 mikes from home base. I over inflated the tire and road like hell til the bike felt," wobbly" in the back, stop and repeated process til I got scoot home! I...

Well, is NOT the way to start out!!!

The tubeless tire idea is very intriguing! If I had seem that before ordering a SET of tubes,( order 2, this way you WON'T pinch the tube installing it!😉), I might have tried it! Years ago the ," off road" hot thing was," tire balls". You I set so many balls for so many tire PSI. I've seem it...

Well, is NOT the way to start out!!!

It has,/had 229 miles when I got it. Dumped oil, checked/ lubed chain, tire PSI, all the good things maybe 2 weeks before the, "Ride from Hell"! The spoke rubber strip was off spokes when I got to checking @ inside the tire, ( heck, it might have been from me, as I wasn't ," Gentle " yanking out...

Well, is NOT the way to start out!!!

Got my new scoot a few weeks ago. All smiles and Anticipation! Added better rack bag, saddle bags with mounts. Last Saturday, weather here in NE Pa. Was sunny and warm,( well for December)! " I'm gonna break out the bike, short trip to Auto Zone to get oil for Jeep"! Worked on my shifting,(...
