Oh yeah. I am stumbling thru the dark, thinking , are you shitting me! Big Bang theory? It isn't possible due to the distance and time it would take. .We can't make it go fast enough, the distance is too great. Really! I believe the real challenge is how do you keep from running in to shit ? As I hit the chair that wasn't there when I went to sleep. If it is a theory,I can prove it wrong. If it is fact,it only applies to where you are there and when you were there. Riding is FUN ! except for idiots that don't look up!Fishwishin, suffice it to say there are many ways to get to Disney World... you just have to pick one. I thought when I retired, things would be much simpler... In a previous life, I sat in MANY meetings as we were working out just how much radiation you could give a man by performing radiological procedures (diagnostic, and/or invasive), before you crossed the line of attempting to help him, and drifted into harming him... I think it may have taken us 10 years to settle on a safe standard, and it's been tweaked a bit over time since then. The body rids itself of radiation over time, so it's a complex algorithm with rolling windows based on the various types of radiation in play, when the body received various doses, size and weight of the patient, and their state of health... I had joy of writing the software that would factor in all these things, and fire a popup (if necessary) to advise anyone ordering yet another radiology procedure on a given patient, that maybe you should wait 6 weeks, and or weigh the pro's and cons of cooking him vs. letting him die. I think Bones was right... we are barbarians.
Whatever you do, do not ask just how much drag should be on the feeler gauge when setting the valve tappet spacing... just saying.
I can't even imagine the conversations at NASA about how to land on MARS.
I bet they love to see you walk through the door in VegasBest idea to get back on the bike until you stop over thinking. One of my tractors had a rubber bung holding in the hydraulic oil,and I overheated it,and it blew it out along with hot oil, It probably saved something else from blowing out. I might have had too much oil in it,but I was definitely over working the little fella.
If we meet, you can rub the top of my head. Luck beats brains!I bet they love to see you walk through the door in Vegas
I've stripped more bolts with a torque wrench then without,
Thank you for this. Here's a video of the process on a JA55. Should be almost identical on a JA65 but note that the crankcase cover gasket is a different part number for the JA55 than JA65. Make sure the two o-rings for the JA65 oil pump are in place when you put the cover back on.
Thank you. In regards to the mineral spirit flush do you just dump it in with an open drain and let it free flow through? How long doe sthe engine have to sit to let the mineral spirits evaporate out before filling with oil? As I am now thinking more about this with the screen in place I guess any shavings would not make it up into the main case where it could do some harm. Am I right on that?if you are going in that deep, get a time sert. my .02 however, that screen will catch anything a self tapping plug can get in there,, also, flushing it w mineral spirits will get it all out, i guarantee it. been there, done it. But do what makes you most comfortable.
Look for the mark on the shaft inside case. The service manual tells you to mark it with a punch before you take it off. but thankfully mine was marked at factory. Yes you have to take it apart to see it. A lift with plenty of light makes things so much easier. I might not understood whether you are, no I ran into same thing.ANOTHER UPDATE
Ok, when all was said and done I decided to pull the right side cover to get a look at everything and do a tap up to a 14mm x 1.5 hole. I went slow and followed the instructions on the videos. The cover removal and tap job all went well, but I lost control of the clutch parts when I removed the cover.
Question- when the clutch parts come undone like they did where do I put the adjustment bolt in its length of travel? I put the clutch parts all back together and I put the case back on with the clutch parts all lined up properly. The clutch adjustment bolt was very bound up and did not want to move. It is possible I had it bottomed or topped out when I reinstalled it. I redid everything with the bolt more in the middle of its travel. I can adjust it now, but it is very tight and I am sure it is not where it was when it all came apart upon removing the case.
Thank you
