New member from Pennsylvania. Put a deposit down last month for the first 2024 my dealer receives. Not my first attempt at a Trail -- had given up in 2022 when at the end of every month for about seven months straight, Honda America pushed the delivery another month and then eventually it just wasn't promised at all. (And then without fail, it seemed the dealers were all flooded with 2022's as the 2023 was announced. I'm sure the dealers loved that.)

Won't be my first Honda miniMoto, I also have a '22 Grom SP. Other bikes are a Triumph 900 Scrambler, and a third gen KLR 650.

Thanks all.

Welcome!

Hopefully it doesn't happen to you again. You could always leave deposits at multiple dealers. I almost did that. It is a little late to do that now, though, as most dealers probably have multiple people on the list. At least that happened in previous years.

I've gone with a different dealer than last time, so hopefully that helps. This is the dealer I got my Triumph from. I fortunately called them the day after the listing went live on Honda America's site (or at least when I noticed it) and no one else was on the wait list yet. The salesman didn't even know the color of it yet, but confirmed they already had four on order. (And their site is showing the four on order now as well.)

The dealer I used in 2022 is where I got my Grom SP from in 2021 and more recently a new, leftover Honda Foreman ATV -- a deal that beat anything on the used market in my area. But as far as ordering from them I won't again. I put a deposit on the Foreman to hold it for the week, and was informed that deposits can only be refunded as store credit if I did not buy. I said that wasn't a problem this time as I am definitely buying, but you've lost me as a customer when it comes to vehicles on order that very well might not show when Honda America does Honda America things.

that's where I got mine. Just stumbled upon one on their website one day. Called them, they took a $500 deposit over the phone (fully refundable) to hold the bike for I think it was 5 days. Stopped up that weekend and bought it. Good luck hunter hunting

Thanks, will do. They came up often when I was searching around for Honda Foreman's or Ranchers.

Damn. I texted with Martin Moto last week and mine was to be shipped 3/21. We'll see how this goes. But as it stands now, I'm passing up in-stock bikes because I have a deposit down elsewhere.

Give these guys a call, if you have trouble with your order. I walked in at the right time with 500 cash in hand and walked out with a new 2022. Bumped the waiting list because I was there in person ready to sign. Also hello to another PA rider.

Appreciate looking out for me. My bike is built, they just aren't in a rush to get my sale closed out I guess. It also arrived early, so it's not costing them to sit around yet.
The weather has been straight shite every weekend too. I'm sure I'll have it done here shortly though.

So I played the game with Martins when I wanted mine, ended up buying elsewhere. As of last week there was a yellow one at Montgomeryville CC.

Which game? I bought mine from Martin's. Back in January 2021, they were straight MSRP+Freight, no prep. Their fees were in line. They even delivered it for free to my house.

Maybe "the game" is an inaccurate way for me to describe it.
Website listed 2 in stock. I called, emailed AND messaged thru their website sales portal. It took days to get a response (normal early summer work week, no holidays in the mix). By the time I heard back they'd just taken deposit for one and the other actually wasn't expected for another 10 days. That was supposedly already spoken for (tho no deposit on it). But they were happy to take a deposit for whatever did come along later. I didn't appreciate the lackluster response when I was ready to buy with $ in hand.
One phone call later to a diff dealer I had one lined up for next day collection.

I'd say that is a symptom of being short of help. I've run into the non-responsiveness with other dealers in the past year or so. It's hard to spend your money when nobody wants to take it. Crazy.

"Games" to me usually means tons of extra prep fees and high other fees.
