I’ve looked at the Husky 701 which is basically the same as the 690. Lots of power for a thumper. I’m more of a KLR (or Trail) power bike guy.

Nice collection.

Bald Rider,
With the KLR you’re also a cost minded rider. The truth around the KLR is a hard to swallow. They are heavy, have a dated, low capability suspension, and a lackluster power plant. But, they look great, are comparatively low cost and can deal with highway speeds all day.

There are several newer bikesin the 250-300cc range to consider… as well as the Suzuki 400. These newer bikes are still fairly low priced, have plenty of off road power and handle WAY better than the KLR. The only real weakness would be highway speeds. But, if you are on this group, you probably own a ct 125. This bike has a lot of cool capabilities, but highway speeds is NOT one of them.

Take care,
Bigfoot
