I’ve had it home since Wednesday afternoon, but this was my first truly free day.

Mounted a Kemimoto rear rack and heat shield. Installed a rectangular milk crate, then mounted a gel cushion back rest, lots of reflectors, and a pair of fishing rod holders. Added the gremlin bell and some gold valve stem caps.

I have a Kemimoto front rack ready to go, along with front turn signal relocation brackets, but those are for tomorrow

Later next week will be the new handlebars, bar end mirrors, windscreen, and hand guards.

At 69 years old, I dropped far too many bolts today, lol!

Forgot to mention, what do you fellows think of “Yellow Peril” as a moniker?

“Old Yeller“ seems a bit too expected…..

Coming along nicely. I hesitate to buy any Kemimoto stuff because of interactions I've had with them contacting me to do reviews on YT. I've never actually handled any of their products.

How about Golden Shower? :D Cheese Louise? Cheddar Chariot?

So, except for the milk crate, every single one of those accessories, even the reflectors, was obtained from Amazon in exchange for unbiased reviews. They have a program called Vine that allows me to pick certain items to write up, and whatever I’m sent is free of charge but considered salary. Thus I pay income tax on the items I receive.

Once they hear about it, most folks typically ask if they can sign up for Vine, but you must be recruited by Amazon, they do not take applications.

My opinion of the Kemimoto stuff is that most of it is atrociously packed, and will almost certainly arrive with finish damage at a minimum. A few cents extra worth of tape and bubble wrap would go a looong way towards eliminating unnecessary rattling around, but their bottom line must be pitifully thin because they choose to forgo protection.

Also, both the front and rear racks are made up of multiple pieces bolted together. No Loctite provided, and the nuts all lack locking nylon inserts, save for two. The Allen wrenches provided are complete garbage to boot.

Having written all that, I can say that if everything is “glued” together (and/or the nuts and bolts upgraded) the quality of the major parts themselves is extremely clean. No sharp edges and each piece lined up correctly with its neighbor. I would have preferred the racks be one piece, but if assembled correctly they look good, work well, and were nicely finished.

And hey, twas all “free”. Over the last seven months or so I’ve used the Vine program to pick up virtually every single lighting and plumbing fixture for the new house we are going to build. Can’t. Beat. That.

I like Yellow Peril.. thanks for not calling it a donkey.. I though we got rid of that donkey crap two years ago, but I see it making a comeback with new owners.
By the way, if you want either of those top cases I bought on eBay, you can have your choice for free with free shipping. I decided that unriveting the mounts on the bottom of the boxes that attach to the mounting plates would put too many holes in the bottom of the boxes. If you want one, just PM me with your choice and your snail mail address and I'll get it shipped out to you tomorrow.

Why does donkey offend you? Donkeys are tuff smart little guys. The may not be as handsome as a horse, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, or as strong but they more than make up for those things with their brains and temperament. In short donkey is a compliment.

Not offended, it's just that the description doesn't fit a CT125. LOL.. Might as well call yours "Yellow Ass", "Red Ass", or "Green Ass" depending on the color of yours. Otony has a much better name for his. Donkey's are stubborn and unreliable and do what they want to do because they are super intelligent. CT125s are not stubborn and unreliable, and calling them that isn't a compliment. Yes, they can carry a lot of stuff when properly managed.

Here is the description from the dictionary:
noun
  1. a domesticated hoofed mammal of the horse family with long ears and a braying call, used as a beast of burden; an ass.
    informal
  2. a stupid or foolish person

Donkeys are very reliable. People who think they are unreliable or stubborn do not understand they will not engage in "hold my beer, watch this" activities. People who say they are poor natured choose the stick when the carrot is a much better choice. They cannot do the heavy work that a horse can do and what they do do is at a much slower pace. Good natured, dependable little beasts of limited capabilities, to me that describes the CT to a T ;)

Donkey's are slow, but sure-footed, long stamina work animals that carry a lot of stuff on their backs including people over all types of terrain. Seems to be the perfect analogy to the CT.

"Yellow Peril" has an obvious racist and xenophobic history so I'd probably avoid using it personally, but I do think it's funny to suggest the little yellow Honda Trail is the Yellow Peril. "Look out Bar and Shield, your days are numbered and the little Wings are going to invade the Dirt Glide market!" 🤣

Yellow Cub? It's already got the bear cub paw print on it 😉

Do you have a link for the gel back pad? That looks like it would be great on my milk crate

Man, you are good with the names :)

My favorite name for the URAL was Mobile Chernobyl

Racism aside, we can easily say the Honda accomplished the invasion the xenophobes were terrified would happen, more or less as you stated.

Still catchy though 😂

It is a bit spendy for what you get. The cushions are great, the fabric cover is a bit flimsy in my opinion. My wife is a professional seamstress, so she intends to sew a more durable cover out of cordura.

If you don’t mind doing some cutting and sewing, I will happily give you the front seat cushion. It is the perfect thickness for a back rest, but added too much height for the saddle.

That is extremely generous of you, but I already have my eye on a plastic tool case at Home Depot should I decide to upgrade. Thank you for the kind offer!

That's tough. Struggling with that one if you want it color-related.

Bloody Donkey?

Other options include: Little Red Trailette, The Scarlet Thumper, Redline, Cardinal Sin, Helen REDdy, Bloodsport, Red Flyer, Coked Up (red like Coke can...could get decals)...
