Just finished my 3rd ride on my 2023 Trail 125. First was 30 miles, 2nd 15 miles and the 3rd was 46 miles. All on forrest roads. My speed was 15 to 20 mph and only got in 4th gear occasionally. Had a few odd noises the first trip and after that none. Do hear the clutch holding back going...

    First Ride Tomorrow!!

Today I rode 25 miles on the roads through Bankhead today. They are in very good condition. Only met 3 trucks on my ride. Two were Forrest Service employees and one was a guy from Louisiana at one of the trailheads. Had a very good experience on my first ride.

I don’t plan to be on city streets or highways. We have national forests roads close by. I usually go there in my Jeep 3 or 4 times a month. Most of my driving is 15 to 20 mph. I’ll trailer the bike there. Thanks for the reply!

    First Ride Tomorrow!!

Got It!! My dealer finally got the Trail 125 in the green color. Took delivery Feb 9th. I hadn’t been on a motorcycle for around 45 years. I was nervous about the test ride. The salesman let me ride a smaller 50 cc scooter around the parking lot first. After about 10 minutes I was ready to test...

Hello Tman. The Garmin Inreach Mini 2 is something I’ll check out. I usually have a handheld with me and my FT991. I also have an ICOM 705 with the backpack and an Elk 144/432 antenna with cary bag. I power these with a Bioenno 20 amp hour battery. I also have a linked dipole and hamsticks for...

Changing that sprocket will probably be the first modification. After a few miles I may need to think about tires and cargo carriers. I have an app so I always know my elevation. During a 20 mile ride the elevation will change several hundred feet more than once. I’m a Ham Radio operator and...

I’ve looked around for a riders course. I have several friends who ride and can give me some good advice. Hopefully one or two of them will follow my lead and get a smaller bike. A group ride with an overnight camp would be great. I’ll be out in cooler weather so boots and clothes will be important.

Hello. I just joined this group and looking for advice. I’m 73 years old and never owned a motorcycle. As a teenager growing up in the 60’s I would ride my neighbor’s Honda 50. After I retired I bought a new Jeep. I go riding through the Bankhead National Forest in North Alabama at least four or...
