What do you think of the bike now?

I have a pretty fresh memory of the OG 90's and 110's since I have been doing multi-day camping trips on them up until I bought my 125. Some thoughts to your comments, they definitely are stronger, but it's lost a bit by the extra pounds the bike put on. The CT90's only weighed 190 lbs. and we...

Question for you experienced trail riders

I just saw this older post because I was doing the UTBDR when it was originally posted, so I feel like that gives me some experience in answering this. The limitations that might dissuade you as I see it are comfort, power, and ground clearance. Comfort can be suffered through by occasionally...

Oil temp, Coolers, and oil opinions

Yeah, they will survive. I think of the crazy abuse I put my old 90's through. I was doing idiotic treks on them long before I dreamed they would reinvent the CT's. Reading through too many forums it seems the common denominator with destroyed engines is either bad fueling or ridiculous rpms...

Oil temp, Coolers, and oil opinions

Dino oil breaks down at 300F or lower so I am unwilling to run it during the summer. Our little motors can hit that easily on a hot day. Good synthetics can handle that heat. Dino oil may dissipate heat better but not enough to keep our motors below 300F when they are pushed in hot...

Oil temp, Coolers, and oil opinions

I just got back today from 7 days/800+ miles of the UTBDR on my stock (mechanically) bike. I wanted to post some opinions and observations on oil temps. Before leaving I installed an Opmid multimeter that takes oil temp from the stock sensor. Realize that this is the hottest point you can...

    Corbin seat

I used to do that on my XR650R. Alright for a day ride, but those spandex but pads are pretty nasty after a couple of days. I upgraded to a better seat.

    Corbin seat

Is the Diablo seat more comfortable then or is it just looks? I've been considering options to improve the stock seat. After several days in the saddle most any seat hurts until your butt breaks in. However, money spent on a better seat is money well spent if you spend much time on it. But...

Why did you buy a Trail 125?

There are a ton of box options to put on that massive rear rack. You can definitely carry more than you would under the seat of a scooter. But, ultimately, you know what you want to ride. Scooters are definitely user friendly. I cannot imagine it would be hard to resell your CT125. I was...

Why did you buy a Trail 125?

Years ago I got a group of buddies to buy CT90's and one 110 to go on epic off road adventures. That qualifies as 300+ miles on these little things. We all had backgrounds with motorcycle touring and most of us do a lot of off road "adventure" touring. The bikes were a whole different type of...

    Met another one!

I was in Moab and I guy came up to me to tell me there is another one he saw in town. It was my wife's. To date I have not seen another one since we bought ours.

What do you think of the bike now?

I guess now that I have put it through a few longer trips I can say it is about what I expected. I wish it was as light as the CT90's. I knew it was a tank before I bought it, but there are times when you are in really technical spots that you feel the extra 60+ pounds. That's not...

    Grom Brake Rotor Spacing

I cross referenced part numbers. The ABS Grom and Monkey share the same part number, but the Trail and Super Cub are unique to themselves. This doesn't necessarily mean bolt patterns are different, though. Both the grom and monkey have smaller wheels, but I can't see why that should affect...

    Grom Brake Rotor Spacing

Ok, so the ABS grom rotor has the same bolt dimension. Great. I would prefer the the EBC 280mm rotor and I will definitely upgrade the pads. Pad upgrade alone will not give me the added power I want. Thanks everyone.

    Grom Brake Rotor Spacing

Ooh, I think that would do nicely. I am not sure how I missed that in my search.....

    Shifter Mod

My 2pennies from experience. After ordering the Tusk shifter for the CRF250L that some have recommended I went ahead and spent the $20 more for the Hammerhead 11-0199-10-10. Same experience as Misfitoy, the CRF shifter was so short that it made it awful to ride. The Hammerhead shifter is perfect.

    Grom Brake Rotor Spacing

I was hoping that someone on this forum who has a Grom (I know there are a few) could measure the distance on center of the rotor bolts. I want to upgrade to a larger front rotor. Something like this... https://www.summitracing.com/parts/ebp-os1183c I know the adapter will most likely not...

    Hitch carrier

I guess I should mention, I think most bumpers would need to be modified. I just took mine of and made the rack so that it will slide in tight to the rear as the bumper. The second bike rack is removable, however, I never take it off. Maybe it's laziness, but it's good to have that purpose...

    Hitch carrier

I wanted to chime in with an alternative to the single receiver hitch in case you are like me and never really trust them much. I have always hated seeing bikes sway from a single receiver. I welded two Harbor Freight receivers on to my frame mounted hitch (Class 5 Curtis). I then welded up a...

    Tires Megathread

Man, I love those Mitroc's. Wish I could find them in the States....... This has been covered a lot, but I dropped my countersprocket a tooth. The only time I can get the ABS light to blink an error is if I do sustained speed >50mph. It hasn't really been a problem for me. I imagine most...

    Tires Megathread

OK, that farm kit is pretty sweet. Factory handlebar protectors and front carrier rack would be awesome. Just a little to $$$ (+ shipping) for me. And those tires look just right. I wonder what the lower gearing sprocket count is? https://www.hondamotorbikes.co.nz/farm-off-road-bike/ct125
