The 2024 headlight bucket was cleaned up nicely by Honda, with wrap to protect connections and wire. I’m installing that newest version of the USB outlet that uses a simple harness between the headlight and bike and provides 2 switched power and ground connections (I'm using the other for GPS).
I have NOT been able to pull out the plug to the headlight. The bottom clearly has a “tab” that gives. The top tab? doesn’t move much at all when pressed and had a blue mark across the tab.
What’s the trick dmonkey (or others)? I don’t want to pull wires going to pins themselves obviously.

If I recall correctly only the top side of the plug has a retaining tab that you need to squeeze out of the way to disconnect the plug, and the bottom side does nothing.
This video shows the necessary action to unclip it at the 3:00 mark. Be sure to pull from the plastic connector itself rather than from any of the wiring.

Thanks! I had already watched that video several times. Even though that bottom tab moved in a lot, it does nothing, and I couldn’t let it go. By ignoring that I got it done, thanks! Now my usb and Montana are mounted on the new OEM rack, installed and I’m ready to go.
Next week I’ll do a test run on the first two sections of the MABDR. Gotta wear out the stock tires before doing anything longer on gravel. Thanks again.

I also have the oem rack installed and I am curious to know which headlight guards can be installed with it?
