Yeah but it might be in a few months. It's my first bike so I'm getting used to it still. Dont want to ride too far from home yet. I'll try to get good enough on the street to meetup for a ride but I haven't done any trails yet.Hey I am in Costa Mesa, want to schedule something?
Bummer, but I understand. Maple Springs Truck Trail, while a graded Forest Service Road is very steep, rocky and has a lot of traffic on it (at times). All not good things for a new rider.Yeah but it might be in a few months. It's my first bike so I'm getting used to it still. Dont want to ride too far from home yet. However if you'd like to do a street ride to Balboa Island (via the Ferry) from Irvine sometime, let me know. I know OC very well and can plan a route where we can avoid a lot of the faster roads in Irvine and *maybe* not get run
Is that road still open? I saw the top of the mountain was on fire last night.Bummer, but I understand. Maple Springs Truck Trail, while a graded Forest Service Road is very steep, rocky and has a lot of traffic on it (at times). All not good things for a new rider.

I saw that too. According to someone who lives in the canyon, within sight of the gate it is currently still open. The fire was reportedly started by a group who were shooting-off fireworks at the summit and caught one of the buildings up there on fire Idiots. Is that road still open? Want to head to balboa this week?Bummer, but I understand. Maple Springs Truck Trail, while a graded Forest Service Road is very steep, rocky and has a lot of traffic on it (at times). All not good things for a new rider.

Let's see if we can find a time one night next week. There's talk of rain tomorrow so I'm postponing the Saddleback ride and I'm having issues fitting the rear wheel back onto my TrailWant to head to balboa this week?
Sounds great! I think a Monkey will do just fine, though depending on how far you are from Silverado Canyon Rd. you may want to truck your Monkey to the Trailhead. I live 30 Mins from the Maple Springs gate and I'm bringing my Trail to the staging area in my truck to save having to ride it down Santaigo Canyon Rd.Hi Kev, still working on getting my trail but i have a ‘22 Honda monkey that I wanted to try Maple Springs with. How do you think it will do? I live off Santiago canyon, so am very interested to do street riding, exploring the area as well
Can I join?Sounds great! I think a Monkey will do just fine, though depending on how far you are from Silverado Canyon Rd. you may want to truck your Monkey to the Trailhead. I'll send you a PM with all the Deets! If everyone who has expressed an interest in going, it could be an interesting group of MC's!
In the future, we'd love to have you join us! Just let me know you're interested just a little more in advance LOL!Can I join?
I'd be up for it, but won't have any time for a ride until next month.Anyone in the mood for an adventure by the end of the month? I’m in Costa Mesa, would love to hit some surface streets, maybe take the PCH to Laguna or somethin!
If you find yourself or can make it near the Santiago canyons I’ll join you. We can ride around cooks corner/modjeska and around the foothill areaAnyone in the mood for an adventure by the end of the month? Dale , if you end up doing your usual to live oak and trabuco canyon on Saturday i would be interested . The earlier the betterHey peeps! Sat or Sunday! Probably Saturday(26th)... Been following this thread, I'm in the Anaheim Hills area (off SantaAna Cyn Rd) so just up a ways from "Pault"? And not too far from Costa Mesa either "advntrjk"? "Kev250R", not sure where abouts in OC your at but probably not too far away? I hit up Santiago Cyn Rd frequently, breakfast at the "Silverado Cyn Cafe", Live Oak Cyn and Trbuco Creek Rd (stop and watch em fly the RC planes). These have been regular stomping grounds for me as of late! I just recently moved out this way from the Los Alamitos area if anyones familiar with that area and kinda miss rides out to the Palos Verdes and PCH runs ect. I'm thinking I may try to sneak out this weekend to do some putting around to wherever I end up! lol Might be PV or south down to Laguna. All surface streets obviously, Sooooo,,, If anyones doing any riding this weekend, hit me up if your interested... (note, I've done some light trail riding but will probably stick to mostly paved at least till I get some better suited tires)

Hey Dale, I'm just down the road from you in the City of Orange near Wanda & Collins (Santa Ana Cyn Rd turns into Wanda just before it ends at Collins). It's funny, I ride many of the places you mentioned! I haven't been there in a couple of months but I used to eat dinner at the Silverado Cafe once a week or so. I was in Silverado Canyon Monday night (the Cafe is closed on Monday's, but I wanted to see if there was any flood damage in the canyon). Although I'm normally on my KTM Duke when I head out that way.Hey peeps! Sat or Sunday! Probably Saturday(26th)... I kept reading so I knew there were others close or in the area but yeah, You're not far from me at all! Look forward to meeting up soon buddy! So far, Its looking like Pault and myself for this Sat.
If I can free up for a "after work" weekday ride, I'll definitely let you know!
