I found this Rv Park https://maps.app.goo.gl/y2xMFgsJGfwd2aAT9 and liked it so much I signed a yr lease, beautiful area with 7 thousand acres to ride in, great owners and friendly people. We moved our rv down in Dec and we are gradually building up a nice little spot for ourselves, if your in the area and want to ride either atv or ct125 give me a holler. My ct125 will be here by the end of the month, didn't have room on the trailer this trip.

I like that it's near some trails and looks like a nice park. I do something sort of similar in the summer months. I move my Travel Trailer up to an area in my local mountains for the summer, rent a spot for it at a Storage lot, then move it to whatever campground in the area that I want to go to for when I'm in-town.

One thing I'll never do again is join a campground Timeshare. I got roped into one of those a few years ago. It was expensive, plus they always found a way to add more maintenance fees for things they wanted to improve. Their reservation system was complex (you had a guaranteed days, but if you used too many then you lost your days for the next year and had to build them back up again or something). And I quickly tired of going to the same park, in the same area over and over again. Getting-out of the membership was a chore too as you couldn't just transfer or sell it to someone; they had to be approved as being worthy of being members. When I was trying to end my membership one of the board members jokingly told me the best way to do it was to get Divorced and stick your now ex-spouse with the membership. The look on that guys face when I told him I was in the process of getting a Divorce and would be doing that was priceless LOL! In the end though he was right, it was the easiest way to get rid of that membership.

Ouch! Luckily this park isn't like that, for 200 a month I get 2 large spaces, one for the rv and one for a storage shed, sewer and water, mail service and it's 55plus Park so no screaming kids. Last month electric was 55 dollars, all in all one of the nicest, most affordable places I've been. Just gotta be careful in the desert with the sticky things, ask Sneakydingo about that. I hate flat tires. Went out a little on the wife's atv it was a lot of fun.

Looks beautiful there. Just looked at the map and now I gotta find out how/why nearby Truth or Consequences got it's name.
It was named after the TV show and the host would come to town every year for the Fiesta and be General Marshall at the parade, I was great times!
Hey man, watch your shit in that part of the State. Lot's and lot's of Cartel business going on down there. I hunt Coyote down there sometimes but have been avoiding it for a couple of years now due the liberal politics in Las Cruses and the bad guys are everywhere. Welcome!

Yeah I've heard about that so far I stay on the ranch and run to Walmart in Deming. I stay out of the bars and bad spots if I can. Where do you ride?

You answered a question I was getting ready to ask! Right now I'm planning a road trip (no riding, I'll be recuperating from surgery) through the Southwest in April (CA to New Mexico, up the Eastern-side of CO then over to Four Corners and then back to Ca either through AZ or southern Utah) and 'Truth or Consequences' piqued my interest! Lots of towns with interesting names in your state. I have an overnight stay planned for Las Vegas, NM just to see how it compares to that other one in Nevada. Is Roswell the Tourist Trap I think it is? I'm not planning-on spending much time there. Good to know about the Cartel activity.

If you come thru Hatch just north of Las Cruces stop at the village market, great food, reasonably priced, the green chili stew is my favorite, if you give me a heads up I'll meet you and buy you lunch. In Roswell I usually camp at the bottomless lake campground btw, have a safe trip buddy.

I haven't spent much time in that area but I did enjoy the White Sands Missile Range Museum just East of Las Cruces. If you're interested in military history or aerospace science and have a military ID or don't mind doing a 10 minute background check to get a visitor pass to enter the DoD site, it's a really interesting location and museum. White Sands National Park is also stunning.

I was in white sands in 83 with the 82nd ABDVN participating in maneuvers with Ft Bliss, I spent a week in a TOW missile blind. Wild times for a 20 yr old hillbilly. It's changed a lot from what I remember.

Thank you, I'll definitely take you up on that! Would be great to meet-up with another Trail rider!

I'll let you know when the time gets closer what and when my plans will be.

Good to know! I work as a Contractor on a local Military base and have a DBIDS ID. Not sure if that will work but if not I don't mind a 10 minute background check. I'm also planning-on checking-out the Titan Missile Museum outside of Tucson on this trip as well. Thanks for the suggestion, it's on the list!!

Hey man, go back through southern UT, there’s a highway south of Blanding going west that is a must see/Ride

Thanks for the suggestion! I had given some thought to going that way if the Ferry at Hall's Crossing is running, though at present time it sounds like it won't be. Still might be a possibility though depending on how the time goes. I've done a lot of off-roading in the Panguitch area and a limited amount outside of Escalante,. I can attest that the drive from Escalante to Panguitch is a nice one, especially since we'll likely be traveling in a 'fun' car for this adventure :giggle:

Spent some time in Deming before at a different RV park (Used to be called Wolf RV Park, then Zephyr, I don't know) but I would have loved to have a trail 125 then to check the surrounding areas!
