European Certificate of Conformity?

I'm hoping to take my CT125 (JA65) to France on 23rd October when we relocate there. The vehicle was originally imported to the UK from Thailand during 2023 and is on the UK register with a UK plate.

I'm struggling to find out if the model has a manufacturer's European Certificate of Conformity (CoC), which is supposedly one of the documents required to get it on to the French register.

If there are any European owners on here could you possibly offer me some advice? I do know that there are CT125's dotted about Europe as I've seen owner's photos.

Many thanks

Just a thought but you could try and ask Honda for a conformity document or letter. Also could try a friendly dealer.
I once helped a friend import a Euro spec BMW from Canada to the U.S. Both BMW North America and BMW Germany refused to help supply such a document, but we lucked out at the dealership in Toronto where a sympathetic service manager found it on his computer for us.

Thanks guys. Still searching. I've contacted Thai Honda Motorcyles Co who build it in Thailand to see if they can help but haven't heard back yet.

There is a process over here where you can get an inspection done to see if the bike conforms to French road standards, but it's quite long-winded and will be a last resort.

I had heard that back in May of this year that Honda had achieved European compliance for 23+ models and that they are going to sell the model in Europe, but not heard a whisper of a launch date as yet.

Honda France have confirmed that the CT125 model reached European Euro 5 standards earlier this year, allowing it to comply with stricter emissions regulations. This means that it is now eligible to be sold on the European market.
Does that mean you can register your’s in France?

I'm in a very similar situation, about to move to France and worried that I won't be able to register my 2021 CT125, I'm not sure that it will be enough that it is already registered within the EU (I'm from Ireland) I still think the French system demands a C.O.C.
I would be very interested to know how you get on if you would be good enough to share that information.

You appear to have a fuel container mounted below the exhaust pipe - how did you manage that?.

The container and holder is a Touratech item. I fabricated the mounting bracket and heat shield myself. Hopefully these pics might illustrate it a little better.

I don't believe that the heat shield is actually necessary, particularly if you have a standard exhaust. I wanted to use a pannier on the left side and the logical place for the fuel container was therefore on the right. I have toured through France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein with this set up and it performed its function perfectly, I've also had it at the Isle of Man TT for 10 days last year, again, no issues so I believe the concept to be proven at this point.

I use a similar container on a Touratech modified bracket. Originally on the right hand side, but on the prop stand any possible leaking fuel would be dripping on to the spark plug and exhaust ..... so I moved it to the left hand side so the any leaking fuel would drop away from the spark plug and hot exhaust .... and the prying eyes of ferry deckhands. Carrying extra fuel in containers is not allowed on ferries, motorbikes and cars, absolutely verboten!

Originally on the right hand side ....

Now tucked away on the nearside ... more out of sight and safer.

Now fitted with Yoshimura exhaust.

Heading for Ireland (A favourite of mine) in May for three or four weeks on your beautiful Wild Atlantic Way ;-)

Enjoy the trip, beautiful if you get good weather. I will be at the TT again in May, but not on the CT this time.
