So I finally got a cover on the new seat, and although the first try at sewing vinyl was pretty bad, I was happy overall.
so, for me, Id say its probably the best thing iv'e done to date. I was thinking of selling it and buying a larger bike.
After a two hour ride, i still could have kept going and that's new for me.
So was it worth it? yep.
I'm planing a 50 mile trip next weekend, see how she go's...

yeah, that's pretty much it. being tall, the stock seat just was painful and the bar that was there just did not work for me.
I did re use the moto loard padding and put a gel insert into it.
the cover is a non slip vinyl for motorcycles.. I think when I make my next cover I will add a top layer of soft foam but it rides good.
and I just like doing my own stuff.

Thanks again, It's a lot of money , but I will do the kit.
was just thinking back when I was building the air cooled diesels, when ever we did a bore over on a jug other then a stock replacement, I put the jug and piston in the oven and heated them
and did a "test fit" (around 300 f) there was some distortion and out of round that they could never correct at the machine shop, the lower thin part of the liners would bell out or go oval.
you really had to take some time with them. hone them hot, and some times Id even use a old piston and lapping compound.

yeah no worries like that on these motors. the sleeve doesn't really hang down enough as the block acts as a heat sink for the part that does go into it.
