I'm sorry to hear of your recent un-planned free time but as others have said try to make the best of it. Balance your time finding a new job (hopefully sooner then later) with taking some time to relax and recharge.
~20 Years ago I lost a job in a career which I thought I wanted to be in 100%. I bought a project car which I couldn't afford at the the time and spent the next nine months trying to figure-out my next move. Then I ran out of money, my GF at the time threatened to leave me and I ended-up taking the next job which expressed an interest in me thinking that I would work it for a while, make some money to buy more parts for my project car and appease my GF then go back to my prior career. That was 21 years ago this October. I now think that career change literally changed my life for the better. I've made life-long friendships, learned skills I never thought I would, do things I didn't even know needed doing, been places I never would have gone and on average almost die about once a week LOL! (I work with High Voltage).
My point is don't be afraid to try new things. Don't be afraid to hit the 'reset' button and try a type of work you maybe haven't before. Even if it's only for a short-time just to gain some life experience.
Oh and the project car? I still have it, it's '60's VW so it's never really done but I drive it regularly. When I have a bad day at work I find working on or driving that car helps to calm me down. That GF however is long-gone
