When I brought my 2020 Super Cub home the first thing that I did was to remove all the warning stickers all over the bike telling me to refer to the owners manual. I forgot how many there were that I peeled off of it, maybe three or four. I kept the ones with info on them that could be useful. I seem to do this with a lot of products I buy. So now I have a CT125 being delivered in a few days and I’m thinking I’m going to do the same thing with this bike even before I store it away for the winter, just because I can’t stand the look and the fact that I don’t need to be told to look at my owners manual! Now I know this seems strange to be the first thing I do when I get a bike but I’ve been a graphic artist all my life and these things stick out for some reason and irritate the hell out of me to the point that I gotta rip them off. Or maybe…I have a warning label issue? I don’t know.
Please don’t explain to me why they are there, I know why. Do they bother you? What was your first thing first?

There are some that I might remove if they get messed up or look out of place with accessories over time. I always leave the chain adjustment sticker because I find it useful as a quick reference. I actually ordered an additional sticker, from the CT90, to add to my CT125:

I get why you'd want to remove them for a cleaner aesthetic though, and it's funny because I'm sure there are folks with vintage Honda Trails who put a lot of effort into finding the right stickers and placement to put them BACK on the bikes once they've become antiques.

My first thing of importance on a new motorcycle is usually adding drop/crash/spill protection where possible, on the CT125 that has been Barkbusters motorcycle hand guards so far.

This!!

I take off the stickers on my dirt bikes but have been looking for the original ones for my 1975 ct-90, I am leaving them all on this time. Some other poster wants to do a full repaint, Its yours, do what you want!

Unless I'm riding it home from the dealer, the first thing I plan to do is take tons of photos, check the torque spec on a lot of the nuts and alignment of things that should be aligned, taking lots of photos as I go. The bike's only going to be new once so I'll only have one opportunity to take those reference photos.

I'm also planning to get a photo with the guy that sold the bike & hopefully the mechanic that set it up. Old habits die hard: apart from being a solid moment in time I can reference later, and a good photo for insurance purposes, I was told by my last mechanic that they'd been a mechanic for 6 years and I was the first person to request a photo with them.

1st thing i do. even on the vintage bikes. only thing i'll leave on is dated inspection stickers (usually on forks or fender if its close to date of manufacture) and original dealer decals if they are there. the rest, gone.

My bike finally arrived home at the beginning of this week after waiting for the recall part to come in. I took pics of the service rep delivering it. The first thing I actually did to the bike was I took the battery out and put it on my battery tender. Then I took some stickers off of it. The one on the engine, the rack, rear fender, rear mud flap and 2 on the battery cover…now it looks a little better. Then did all the cleaning, waxing and spraying to put the bike away till springtime. Went inside to warm up and started ordering parts for it right away since it will take a while for the parts to get here.
