  • Type: Single cylinder
  • Displacement: 124cc
  • Bore x stroke: 50mm x 63.1mm
  • Compression ratio: 10.0:1
  • Valvetrain: SOHC; 2 valves
  • Fueling: EFI
The Regular gasolines available seem to be on the edge of the 10.0:1 compression ratio needs. At a gallon at a time why not get Premium fuel and enjoy some benefits from the name brands which introduce Techron in their blend, which the lower grades might not have. Also.... FI greatly deals with the low grade fuel octanes and knock.

Now the tires................ lol...... I can not see very much benefit from trying to get the biggest knobby-ish tires you can fit, because they don't really fit well and many encouner rubbing issues. I live in North Carolina and have 30 acres here. My field has a lot broom grass and other grasses. My traction on it was fine, even over on My eastern side which has a pretty lush section with a carpeted acre of moss. Even the slippery nature of this flora did not compromise my traction. [greenies, I didn't leave tracks or blemishes crossing the moss]
I think I'd be more afraid of coming up on a Blacksnake or something to stop me cold, not loss of GRIP.

The owner's manual lists Pump Octane Number (PON) 86 or higher. I would only worry about detonation if your engine is experiencing it. The CT125 gets great fuel economy so luckily fuel is not a major expense in the grand scheme of things. Spend your money however makes you happy.

Many riders switch to knobbies for the aesthetics and/or because the stock IRC GP-5 tires aren't exceptionally grippy in some off-road conditions. The front tire can wash out very easily on wet or loose terrain.
As for street tires, Michelin offers some street tires sized to fit the CT125.

@G19Tony is about to attempt the 2023 Scooter Cannonball with a set of Michelin City Extras which are a street tire focused on longevity. He may have some feedback to share on them after the event.

Looking forward to G19Tony's experience with the Michelin tires, as most of my riding will most likely be local streets.

Techron is exclusive to Chevron.... You can spend more, the performance on a stock motor won't change

Well I'm not looking for hp or anyhing, just a cleaner burn to keep the injector in A1 condition. I realize there are other schools who dismiss premium all together
