Could have had a Trail 125 last year, but by the time the dealer got done with insane markups the cost was nearly $7K out the door so I passed. Another dealer said they would put me on their waiting list, but when I stopped in to check, found out I wasn't on the list. Their excuse was that I didn't put a deposit down, so they took me off the list, though they originally said I didn't need to put a deposit down. Did put a refundable deposit down and third in line at a shop that has only had a few pass through, and no 2023 models yet. They gave me an ETA of maybe by the end of September.

Got more serious about looking when I enrolled and passed a MSF basic rider course late May. Requested quotes from a bunch of dealers through the Honda Power Sports website. Only one replied, stating they have them ordered, but a waiting list. Said they would contact me when they were getting one that was not spoken for. No ETA.

Called a Powerhouse Dealer a few hours drive away a few weeks ago. They had recently fulfilled the wants of their waiting list with 8 2022 models that came in earlier, then three 2023 models arrived for the last three people on the waiting list. So I became No. 1 on their waiting list. Said they wouldn't know until sometime after June 1st when they would be getting more. The dealer called me June 1 and said one of the buyers for 1 of the 3, 2023s they just received backed out. It was mine if I wanted it. Woo Hoo! Put a deposit down online. Made the trip to the dealer a few days later. Completed the paperwork and paid in full. Unfortunately, I couldn't make arrangements to pick it up until Monday the 12th, when a friend with a truck and trailer is available to help haul it home for me.

Looking forward to getting it home and riding. Have never ridden much, and not at all for probably about 45 years until the Basic Rider Class a few weeks ago. Don't know much about motorcycles or motorcycle maintenance, but eager to learn. Most riding will probably be local streets. Not sure what accessories I may equip the CT with. I'm sure I'll have lots of questions that the good folks here will help answer.

Congratulations, I'm glad that you made it through the process of waiting / deposits / dealership tomfoolery. I think you'll find it worth it!
