Went for a 104 mile round trip ride down to the Eldorado store at Badin lake. I switched out the stock seat for a Corbin Gunslinger. The stock seat hurt so bad I was unable to ride more that 25 miles before severe ass pain. While Honda had the bike for the 600 mile service I had them install some handlebar risers so I could ride in a more up right position. I was able to complete the ride with very little discomfort. One thing for sure it was a pleasure to be able to climb to 90 MPH and leave the tail gaiters behind. I really miss that on my Trail 125 where the roads I traverse are very limited do to the bikes slow top speed.
The Honda CB300R ABS is a really nice 289 CC liquid cooled bike . Fuel injected, 4 valves per cylinder, single cylinder ABS, water cooled, with a trick suspension for point and shoot handling. It was in the High 90's today and I was pushing the bike hard after the new service. The temperature gauge never went beyond 1/2. The Trip down to Uharrie I used all back roads and averaged 50 mph @ 84 MPG. The trip back was all highway and averaged 62 mph with burst up to 80 mph. Only got 58 mph on the home trip. The out the door price was exactly $1000.00 more than the Trail 125.
