Super excited new owner here, from just across Puget Sound from Seattle! I had a perfect Island bike in my Sym Wolf Classic 150, but it was sadly totaled in an accident this summer. Fortunately the lad I loaned it to healed up fine, and the insurance money helped me scoop up this "used" 2024 from a dealer with only 12 miles on it! It even has an optional kick starter like my dearly departed Wolf. I've always wanted one of these babies, and it's going to be perfect for bopping around the island and over to the Kitsap and Olympic Peninsulas.

hi @Gimmick!!

@Ben The Scorpion, @uuTuTu and I are all nearby, mostly Seattle centric (Ben is a little farther south). Congrats on the bike, we might have to send you a quick message if we hop on the ferry for an island jaunt.
Sure thing - let me know when you all are bopping over! I just read through @uuTuTu 's intro thread and you guys provided quite the wealth of great tips on riding these bikes around here. Including the sweet, sweet benefit of always getting on the ferries!

I signed up for a motorcycling event near Shelton in June and was wondering if I should try to take the Trail 125 or if it would need to be my RE Himalayan for the unavoidable stretches of either Highway 101 or SR3 between here and there. I think the Trail would be more fun except for that little problem. I'll check out that ScootRoute app to see what it says, but let me know if you have advice!

Never heard of that app before but just tried it out on my iPhone. Looks like no problem getting to Shelton and staying on the back roads from the island. Would be a fun ride. I wouldn't try it in the afternoon though, old belfair highway gets pretty busy then. I'm probably not going to be in town much for the next couple of months but maybe we could do a ride sometime down around spring. I'm in Kingston.

Aw crap, ScootRoute isn't available on Google play anymore!
There is a way to get an older APK file for it that works on Android. It is pretty buggy tho if trying to navigate, and definitely not supported. Works alright for plannin a route, and then visually copying that route to another mapping software (Google, Waze, Ride with GPS, Garmin etc).
