Just picked up my 2023 Trail 125 today. I bought a lightweight motorcycle rack from Harbor Freight close to 18 months ago in preparation for this purchase. Even though I read at the time that it might take a while to to get my hands on a 125, I foolishly thought if I went to the dealer, placed a deposit and an order, I would soon receive my bike. They wouldn’t take my money, or an order. Said they had to wait for their allocation and they weren’t seeing any in the near future. Put my name on a waiting list. Over the next year I checked in several times for updates, but nada. This past Thursday I was viewing Facebook Marketplace and a green 2023 was offered for sale. I did a little detective work and sure enough, it was my dealer, and hey had two in inventory. I went the next day, gave them a deposit and set up pickup for today (Saturday). When I asked why I hadn’t been contacted to let me know the bikes were in stock since my name was on a wait list, they replied, “What wait list?”
Sheesh!
Anyway, I am now a proud owner and got to put the carrier to use—finally! Had time to put about 12 miles on it, but riding was not really pleasant in the 100+ degree heat. Looking forward to the fall. I already own a couple of Trail 90’s (69 and 71), but now I have reliability and modern tech. Gonna have some fun.
