Blast from the past, like a classic old western!
"When you're on the trail with the big ones though, the obstacles don't count"
Well, when you hit 'em they tend to 😂
Trail 50 was a mere 150 lbs - still, those guys were some pretty decent riders.

"Built with the precision of a fine watch and the power of a Cape Buffalo" (from the ad) The riders manhandled those 50s on and off trail

This is what I had in mind when I bought my ct125. A couple of years ago I went Aoudad hunting with a friend and my son near Del Rio, TX. We were on 4wheelers and a tw200, had a blast riding that terrain. When my boy took an Aoudad, we ended up packing it out in a 4x4 though. I believe the ct125 can prove it's utility in hunting. I want to make a rifle holder similar to what these guys had and possibly a rear rack extension eventually. Loved this video. The beginning of the Honda trail right there.

I believe a company makes a rifle rack for these. If I recall a member sold one on this site at one point.

I really enjoyed the video. The big take away for me was the rear sprocket. The bikes obviously excelled in rough terrain when geared appropriately. While we are left in awe what the video didn't show was the trade-off. I wonder what the top speed was with 5hp 82 tooth rear sprocket?

If you gear down the modern version to make it into a trail-mule, then you lose the commuter/grocery getter benefit that the higher geared modern version offers. But putting the big sprocket and aggressive tires on the HTC125 would be fun.
