After just recovering from Rotator Cuff Surgery, I'm now exploring the CT125 I bought in early August. It now has almost 700 miles on it. The gas mileage has been really consistent. Last three tanks were 110.32, 109.83, & 109.68 miles per gallon, so let's just say 110 MPG. This weekend I wanted to see how far I could go before running out of gas. I had a full 30 oz MSR fuel bottle and the bike started to sputter at 151.7 miles. I stopped, dumped in the 30 oz of extra gas, and made my way to a local gas station. I pulled up to the pump and reached for my wallet which wasn't in my pants pocket (I later discovered was in my shorts hanging on the clothes tree in my bedroom). I had already gone 10 miles on the extra 30 oz and home was only 15 miles away. I had guessed 1 mile per ounce which should have got me to my home. I was wrong. The 30 oz of gas lasted for almost exactly 20 miles. Luckily, I had a gas jug at home and a really understanding wife. She was there within 15 minutes rescuing me and the 125. Lessons Learned: Top off no later than 125 miles, double check for your wallet and cell phone, and 30 oz MSR Fuel Bottle only extends the range 20 miles at 50 mph and 200-300 ft elevation changes.
