I imagine most have thought of this, but when I decided to do some Tennessee riding I bought a set of the 241s of wich the rear 2.75 is still on running fine and true... however the 2.50 on the front was bouncing like a rubber ball at 30 to 45 mph.
Drove me nuts so I ordered a 244 / 2.5 for the front...
Not as bad, but yeah no good.
Went through the mounting, dismount and balanced...
Nooo good. So I rigged up my power plainer and shaved away, figured I had nothing to loose and I'm put the GP 5s back on as soon as I hit FL.
Results pretty good.
She's running pretty smooth, not like the GP,s but I'm at least no bouncing on the highway..

The bouncing thing is documented for the SR244s; it's where the tire wasn't seated properly on the bead, even if it seemed and looked like it was. Tire bead lubricant and cleaning the rim before installing the tire will help. Inflating the front tire and bouncing it on the ground when you do the install will help seat the tire correctly. I also tried a rubber mallet and flexing the tire casing with my hands to encourage it to seat but that wasn't as effective.

60 psi and spraying the wheel tire interface with simple green works for me

Yes thank you, I tried everything I could think of at the time, and I'm used to doing my car and truck tiers myself, funny the silly little rubber doughnut beat me...
When I pull that front back off in the fall il have to look closer to see what I did wrong.
She is running pretty good now, even with the 60 mh down hill runs.
I wish there was a better tire though.
