Thought I posted this yesterday, but it would appear I failed... 2nd attempt. Hopefully will not need the 3rd time charm!

Not trying to re-open the discussion of whether or not this is needed, I've decided to install one. I'm down to picking one. I noticed that GCraft's shift support is of a somewhat different design than others. Wondering what the more mechanical minded folks here think of that design as compared to say the Revolution one. I don't have to have the "best", but if there is something compelling about that design, I'll spring for it. Not sure what all the extra hardware is for with the G

Here is the G-Craft shaft support product page:

And a diagram of the parts:

Bolts 5 and 6 are longer bolts that replace OEM ones you take off the engine, and the extra length is to fit the shift support. Bolt 5 gets a spacer (4) behind it. Bolt 7 replaces the OEM flange bolt that retains the foot shifter pedal. I don't know about the JA65, but on the JA55 I broke the OEM bolt and others have too. "Fra-gee-lay! It must be Italian."

Here is the SRK/Seri Group Revolution shaft support product page:

Here's a video of the Revolution (SRK Group / Seri-Group) shaft support install on a Dax 125 which has a very similar Euro5 engine:

Here's a picture of a newer Monkey (similar Euro5 engine to the CT125 JA65) where I labelled the G-Craft bolt locations with "G" and Revolution with "R" on the left side of the engine.

The Revolution uses two spacers and replaces two OEM left side crankcase bolts, while the G-Craft is shaped to only use one spacer and picks up on that same rear crankcase bolt position but then at the front picks up on a left side crankcase cover bolt instead. Ditching the second spacer could make the G-Craft one more rigid.

According to their product listings the G-Craft Type 1 used ball bearings, Types 2 and 3 use needle bearings. The G-Craft Type 3 support uses a sealed bearing which is great because it's placed in a location that's going to be exposed to water, dirt, and road grime.

The older Revolution shaft supports used a shielded bearing which could more easily be contaminated. I have no idea what is in that JA65 support. Couldn't find it in their product listings, they're not boasting it as a selling point, and it doesn't appear obvious. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Personally between the two of them I'd go with the G-Craft.

agreed,. the g craft one looks more supportive due to the machined 'dog leg' on the housing vs a spacer.
