That's more or less what I did to mine (Green Donkey) I used Rustoleum High Temp Engine Paint on mine... I think it's satin though... but it's all good. I like it much better.

I used their high temp ceramic paint in flat black. Went on very easy. Just need to get that shine off the rear rack now.

Got the Honda Recon a month ago to replace an aging out Kawasaki for work around the property and plowing snow in the winter. I got the Trail 125 3 days ago for the fun stuff! Taking camping, exploring new trails, and just a grocery getter. I love that bike!

Finally got the MC carrier in and set up. Test run is good! Now I have to get past the fear of some bolt breaking and driving over the Trail at 50 mph.. That will come with time..

Seat and USB Adapter installed. Man, this seat is WAY more comfortable than the stock one, taking a town-town trip tomorrow, we'll get a final assessment after that. Added a little bike bag to the center rack as well.

I loaded up the bike into the minivan and did some actual off-road earlier today on trails at Chengwatana State Forest in Minnesota. The stock tires did better than I expected although I did have trouble with traction on a steep rocky hill and I got stuck in mud once. There was a lot of mud, so only getting stuck once was surprising.
