Honda Powersports have added a "Search Inventory" link to their website to help locate new Trail125 models.

Your results with this may vary. I reached out to 4 dealers in my area that were listed as having a 2024 model in stock, 2 actually had them available on the showroom floor, 2 were expecting delivery within the next week.

About damn time.

I'm seeing similar results, listed as "in-stock" but only a couple of the dealers' own sites show bikes in stock. The others must be slow to update, or still in transit.

This is the dealer where I have a deposit down, these all changed status just this morning. I'm sure I'll get a call this week.

dmonkey.. thanks.. that is very helpful. I see nothing within 200 miles of me, and it confirms that no Powerhouse dealers in Florida have the 2024 yet. When I see Honda of Melbourne or RC Hill in Deland show up, I can guess that my local dealer will get one in three weeks. I may end up to be the last one on the forum getting one..

A trip to Georgia out of the question? Or just not needing one that badly.

What's the story with Powerhouse dealers? There isn't such a thing in my region.

Powerhouse dealers only sell Honda, and sell a lot of them. My local dealer sells Honda and Suzuki, and so can't be a Powerhouse dealer. I like to remain loyal to my local dealer, and I've already paid for one there anyway. If it is like previous years, Powerhouse dealers will get four or five in their first shipment, and regular dealers will get one each three weeks later. I also save about $600 getting one from my local dealer as the Powerhouse dealers have huge mystery fees. My OTD is still way more than the OTD in West Virginia though.

Got it. Looks like I'm not missing out on much if my non-powerhouse dealers I frequent are still getting bikes I want.

FL is the hotbed for crazy fees and pricing indeed.

Regular dealers in Florida sell for about the same as other states where the dealer collects sales tax and issues the title and tags. The prices in Florida just become outrageous when the Powerhouse dealers add in $800 in mystery fees, and buyers pay that because they don't want to miss out. I think probably California may have the highest average OTD prices in the USA, based on the discussions over the past few years on this forum.

Seeing tons of them available. Both of my local dealers have units in stock.

I can attest to that. Two years ago when I started looking for a Trail I stopped-by my local non-powerhouse Dealer ready to buy until they added $1,500 in fee's. Ended-up walking-out and thanks to this forum found a less-then year old Trail For Sale and bought that one for just about what the MSRP on a new one would have been (before any fee's).

Fees? What were they?
The standard, Tax, Title, License, Doc fee's and should have totaled an additional $800-1,000 which I was fine with. It was the ADM (Additional Dealer Markup) which I had a problem with and which they didn't care to negotiate on. OTD Price was $6,500 This was in May of '22 in Orange County, So.Cal.

Fast-forward to today and now I'm in the market for a Monkey, which is another in-demand model (at least in my area). We'll see how that goes when I get serious enough to actually go to some dealers, which will not include the dealer where I tried to buy my Trail.

Well at least the fees were itemized so that you knew what the fees were. I never understood the "toy" market and how most people think that dealers aren't allowed to make extra money by way of markups. Obviously no one likes to pay markups but the concept of supply and demand always interested me inside this toy market. People seem to always pay them.

Not to mention fees.

Some people, yes I'm sure they do just pay them. Or they find a way to negotiate around them, which I've done successfully with other bikes and vehicles. Or they don't know that they aren't mandatory, which is really scary.

I'm (generally) a patient consumer. When the Grom first came-out I knew I wanted one and at the time pretty much any dealer within reasonable distance of me was charging (and getting) crazy fee's for them. So I waited two years to buy mine (I have other bikes which kept me occupied during that time). By that time a lot of dealers had stopped charging BS fee's and I got one for basically MSRP with no ADM (just standard state fees). I tried doing the same when the Trail came-out, but prices (and fee's) stayed higher, longer then I anticipated which is why I eventually bought a gently used one from a private party.

As far as a fee break-down goes, I think it might be a law here in Ca that they have to provide a break-down of fee's as every car, truck, MC, ATV I've bought from a variety of Dealers has included one. A few years ago I wanted a new Yamaha Zuma (don't judge me, it was an odd time to be me) and went to a local dealer to buy one. The amount of fee's they wanted to charge was about 1/4 (or more) of what the MSRP of the Scooter was! Included in the break-down was a 'Vehicle Storage Fee'. I asked what that was about as I planned-on taking the Scooter home with me that day; no need to store it until I could return with a truck, I literally had one parked right outside. The Salesman said (proudly) that covered the costs they had with storing the bike until it sold. I told him I had no interest in paying storage for something I hadn't actually purchased yet.

Once the bikes are more available and dealers actually have inventory, it doesn't really matter whether you go to a powerhouse dealer or not. It comes down to the owner and how they run the place and what fees they charge or try to get away with. When pre-ordering something that hasn't landed stateside, you have a better chance of getting one if you go to the high volume/powerhouse dealers. I made that bet and put my deposit down at a powerhouse for my '23. It paid off. They had 3 when nobody else in the country that I know of had any.
