What are your July 4 plans? Are you buying anything on sale? (Or weekend)

What's on your July 4 plans? Do you have anything on your wish list you're going to buy on the July 4 independence day sales?

I'll be the designated on call person for my team. Our automated systems don't heed public holidays, so for about 10h-14h I'll be within 10 ft of my work laptop working my ass off. Normally public holidays are pretty chill, but because this one falls during the week I'll likely be fielding all the questions from the international teams. As for the discounts, I scored a pretty massive discount at my gym being one of the first to take advantage of a sale, so I'm pretty happy there. Saved enough to buy **counts on fingers** 2 year's worth of CT125 fuel.

How about the rest of you? As an Aussie who moved to the USA, but never actually really took part in July 4 festivities as I've always been working or doing things with my ex's family, this is how I imagine it to be:

Just going to get mijitos and some good mexican food w a few friends mid-day at a place on the river like a mile from the house... then,. watch the rednecks blow shit up in the neighborhood with fireworks later that night. Luckily the dogs are mostly deaf at this point so they don't care anymore. No purchase plans.

My small town has a little parade on Saturday. I'll be cleaning the house/yard in preparation for family coming over after the parade. It will be 100F here so we probably won't be spending much time outside. It never gets that hot here.

What I want to be doing tomorrow is working on the bike that is currently still not wired up yet and in more pieces than I'd like it to be in right now.

I was going to be working on the bike, but I managed to get that done last week so now the most I have to do is clean it. Which actually sounds like a half decent plan for the day.

I almost bought a van today but the rear doors were too short to fit the bike in. I need to find a high-roof van.

10'ish years ago I worked installing partitions, shelving units, ladder racks, locksmith benches, etc.; in Nissan NV Cargo work vans (also Ford / Chevy / GMC vans). The Nissans were great tho because they had "reinforced" mounting points welded to the body. No need to drill holes and plus nut to mount. Nissan did a deal with Adrian Steel, and offered kind of modular styled package upgrades when purchasing a NV. Looks like yours already has a partition 👍. The vans were decent to drive too. I'm not sure how well they held up. I think Nissan discontinued the NV Cargo Van model line a few years ago.

This one is a little rough but not too bad. Someone forgot how tall they were while driving and there's a dent near the top and the creases are a little rusty. I'll be taking care of that first.

It has 230k miles on the v8 but it drives solid. It was owned by a Kenworth dealer for the first 220k miles.

My wife is already talking about doing a 4wd conversion.
