    Tires Megathread

Very cool trip! Last year in the desert all I did was walk from water source to water source on the Pacific Crest Trail. Wish I had had a bike!

You had one of 'those'...CT90? Baja No-Pinch? As stated above 'I pinched the tube'. If by 'system' you mean the three tire spoons without the Baja No-Pinch tool then yes. Spoons only is very challenging. The Baja No-Pinch tool take the challenge out of changing tires. IMO of course.

    Tires Megathread

Actually I used it on my 1978 CT90 which has a 12mm axle. Not sure what size the 125 has. You do have to but a separate minibike kit for the 10mm/12mm axles. I wouldn’t change a tire myself without this tool. I tried. I pinched the tube. Very infuriating after so much effort. At least now I...

    How hot is too hot?

I have raced an air-cooled Porsche (1966 912) for many years and have never had a problem over heating even at 100F and max revs for minutes at a time. Air-cooled engines are the best IMO. I was going to ask how long I could run this bike at wide open throttle but now I feel fine just doing so...

    Exhaust shield

Back in 1992 I had my Kawasaki KZ1000 'sold' to a guy that made me promise not to sell it to anyone else. After an hour of waiting for him to show up I was a tad pissed off and thirsty so went for a cold one at my local market blocks away. Shorts, t-shirt, etc. Usually wore all the safety...

    Rear foot pegs

I put the Revolution ones on my bike. Seems very solid. Does reduce access to rear shifter a tad but I don't have any problems working the shifter even with my big feet.

    Exhaust shield

I see some people have an extra black exhaust shield for the passenger. Is this necessary? Don't want my wife to get a boo boo....Just thought I'd ask. Cheers, Jamie

Pretty much what my wife did. 😂

    1978 CT90

Picked up the newest addition to my stable today. Let the adventure begin. Been sitting for years and needs some attention. I think I'll get it running then restore it bit by bit.

What do you think of the bike now?

So far this bike is exactly what I expected. What I didn't expect was all the attention I would get around town. On my maiden voyage into town I was followed into the hardware store by someone I know in town and asked a ton of questions. They make those again? How much did it cost? Do you...

    Tires Megathread

On the first page FAQ's it states: What combinations are known to work without modifying the bike? Max 2.75" on the front (80/19-17) with no rub, 3.0" with a tiny bit of rub at speed. Max 3.0" on the rear. I was wanting to know if the OEM 80/90-17's were closest to a 2.5" or 2.75" tire...

    High/Low range

The old CT90/110’s … some years had the high/low range option and some years didn’t. The 1980 110’s didn’t have this option when first released. Later years did. I wonder if this might become an option again for Gen3 ? Certainly solves the need to be swapping out sprockets. Just a random...
