    New tires

I just like the more aggressive tread pattern of the 244s better than the 241s.

    New tires

I put the 3 incher Shinko 244s front and back. There’s definitely clearance issues on the front- had to remove fender to test-ride. It’s demonstrably different. You can feel the slight rise in CG and the bike doesn’t carve on asphalt nearly as nicely as with stock- just more effort required...

    Chain Tension Question

Is the 1.25” free-play spec with the bike on the center stand (i.e., rear shocks/arm extended) or on the kickstand/level, b/c it makes a big difference?

What did you name your bike?

Any well-loved vehicle needs a moniker. I had a 1988 Suburban in the family for three owners named 'Big Bertha' and an original bug-eye WRX named 'Blu Ru'. What did you name your new Trail 125? Mine is 'Trailer Swift'. (My pre-teen girls may have had a hand in its naming...) Now, I'm not a pop...

Who's got one on order? And more importantly, what news have you heard?

I think the key is to waitlist with a Honda-only factory dealer. I got myself geeked up this last Christmas and put $500 down at Peak Honda World in Littleton, CO in January. They said they were getting 1-2/mo., so I was expecting it in the Spring sometime. Ended up getting it late February...

    Rampart Range in Colorado

I live just south of Denver, and it's 27 miles from my house to the Rampart Range Riding Area in the foothills, which boasts 200mi. of mostly single track OHV trails, ranging from beginner to gnarly scrambles and log rides. There were only about 4mi. of 55mph speed limits to get there, some...

What size screws are used to mount a box on the back rack?

Hi 'm in sc', Agreed. It makes A LOT more sense that they are M6. With all the paint I could only get in a thread and a half. That being said, I'll keep the paint passivation in place and use the 12-24s till they get sloppy, because they fit reasonably well now. After re-tapping to M6, I'll have...

    Top Speed - Favorite Speed

    I've hit 58 down a hill. Only about 47-48 on a flat. It's most fun around 30mph.

What size screws are used to mount a box on the back rack?

The thread on the rack are actually an oddball M5.5-0.90 thread. Neither M5 nor M6 will fit well. The best approximation is a standard 12-24 screw, which approximates to a M5.49-0.94
