First REAL ride on my scoot

Depending on how many miles you have already ridden it, you may notice an increase in power after a few hundred miles. My bike seemed to pick up 10 or 20% when I hit 300 miles.

Angle Iron Replaces Original Tool Box/Side Rack Mounting Tabs

Last Spring, I posted a thread about mounting a plastic ammo box on a side rack to carry all my flat tire fix supplies. After 80 miles off-road this Fall in Big Bend National Park, the mounting tabs broke off the original luggage rack, causing the ammo box and the original little toolbox to...

    Winch on a ct125?

In all my years of off-roading, it never occurred to me to have a winch on a dirtbike. Congratulations for thinking outside the box. I haven't had the 125 in situations that precarious, but there were a few times when I had to get off my old Trail 90 and walk alongside in first gear in low...

Desert riding vs everywhere else ive ridden

The deep sand especially makes desert riding challenging. A full knobby front tire helps, but in deep sand, the 125's rear wheel can dig in and arrest all forward motion. I used to think deep sand was a pain when riding full on dirt bikes. But the Trail 125 definitely escalates the struggle...

Large rider fixes for the front and rear suspension

I don't really remember. But it would not surprise me a bit. Let us know how they work for you.

    Nice Affordable Handlebar Risers

I found a set of 20mm handlebar risers on eBay for $17.84 plus tax that work very well. I am 5 foot 11, and found the handlebars a little too low for daily riding on road and standing off road. These make both a lot more comfortable. They come with the riser inserts and longer bolts. You can...

Large rider fixes for the front and rear suspension

I've only tried the Treatland shocks. But if you find somebody who has tried the YSS shocks, make sure that his or her weight and yours are relatively similar. The Treatlands work so well for me, because I weigh about 220 pounds in full riding gear.

    Excited!

I spent much of the first 47 years of my life in or near Pittsburgh. Many great riding areas. I do my riding now in West Texas. Stay away from the mud and technical trails and you'll love the Trail 125!

What do you think of the bike now?

Mine started to pick up some power when I hit 300 miles. Just passed 2100 miles. Over time, I adapted to the power output, and the 13 tooth sprocket really did help. Keep fresh oil in it, and spin it as hard as you need to.

Great. Looking forward to a ride report.

Large rider fixes for the front and rear suspension

Yes, that's it. Put it on the center stand and do one side at a time. There's a little washer between the preload tube and the springs. You can reuse that.

Custom Harbor Freight Luggage, and a Must-Do Utility Rack Mod

On the heel and toe shifter question, the auto clutch system makes for longer travel each time you shift. The heel shifter allows you to do those up shifts with less movement of the ankle. In the end, that's the main reason I kept mine. When I'm standing on the pegs on rough ground, I still use...

Large rider fixes for the front and rear suspension

Hi all, just catching up with the conversation. I might add that when you pull your springs out, let them drain for a little while before completely removing them. Quite a bit of oil will come out with them if you remove them too quickly. Also, make sure you have a wrench that fits the fork...

    Toolbox Upgrade (Apache 1800)

Very nice installation. But if you ride on rough enough terrain far enough, you will break those tabs on the rack. Took 60 miles on desert trails for me. Experience is a hard teacher.
