So on monday, I dropped my bike on the right side, on rough concrete. Bending the exhaust heat shield towards the back and bending the right side pedal where the hole for the rubber pad's bolt goes through. In lieu of this i (lazily) bent the exhaust guard out a little and took a scotch pad to it and painted it black with VHT very high temp matte black paint (you can see the misshap of the dent on the left at the end of the exhaust):

After that I took both rubber pads off since I don't want to replace the right-side peg since it's still structurally in tact, with some minor scuffing.
After doing the run to get the ceramic in the paint to harden, I prefer them off as it moves my feet into a more comfortable position. All in all, it just makes this bike a little more like a bike worth doing dumb stuff on, and to make sure you have the right surface to put the kickstand down on! 😉

I wasn't on the bike when it happened, I was putting my old man's vehicle back in the garage when the kickstand on the slope of the concrete slab in front of the garage caused the almost standing straight-up bike to start creeping forward while it was running. It then fell over. All because I was in a rush to go to work 🤦‍♂️

That came out really well! Did you use a particular paint, or just a standard matte engine paint?

I used some high-temp flat black paint that the NAPA store I work for had, it's called VHT "Flameproof" paint: https://www.vhtpaint.com/high-heat/vht-flameproof-coating. It was on-hand and cheap (job benefits, hehe) so I went with it. I also have experience putting paint on as I used to work for a cabinet-making factory and working with weird shapes was not uncommon.
