In this thread https://hondatrail125.com/index.php?threads/headlight-wires.359/ talk about how to use a relay to activate the high beam auxiliary lights to enhance lighting on the road at night.
I don't plan on hunting on the highway at night.
I plan to add low-power LED auxiliary lights to display the width of the motorcycle during the day, because the CT is too small and some careless drivers think it is a slow-speed bicycle approaching. A little more lighting is enough when driving near the campground at night.

So I need the auxiliary light to be active with the start switch, no relay is needed as there are only 3.6x2 watts. 250lm x 2.

I first followed this thread and cut the headlight wiring. The test result was that the green wire is the ground wire and the black wire is the daytime running light power. Then I cut the headlight wire, added a fuse to the positive terminal, and soldered on wire. After I was done, It was difficult to stuff the pile of wires into the headlight casing.
Result!!! I discovered that Honda had already prepared this wiring harness!!! One green and one black!!! Hidden in the back, I didn't see it at first. It's the blue plug in the photo.

If you continue this kind of project and add low-power lights, USB chargers, and GPS power supplies, you can directly connect this wiring harness. It is very easy.
I'm a lab rat. Ah

Good find. That accessory power plug is unique to some markets. The Japan and Canada models have it, USA does not. OEM accessories that plug into it are the Honda heated grips, and the cigarette lighter power port. There are aftermarket accessories that use it as well, including LED light kits.

If a fella wanted to install Honda heated grips (plug into that blue connector) and a second thing (like USB or aux lights) is there a way to do that using the blue connector?

Also I'll say as someone who's often willing to overspend on nice OEM accessories, I'd personally steer clear of the Honda OEM heated grips. The main thing they've got going for them is being plug-and-play on Canadian and Japanese market bikes. Other than that they don't integrated into the factory controls and display like on higher end motorcycles with OEM accessory heated grips, and their quality isn't great. IMO there are higher quality and cheaper aftermarket options. I am running Oxford Heaterz Premium heated grips on my CT125. If I were to install them again I would go with the newer "Oxford HotGrips Pro" which were released after I installed the ones I have, and have integrated controls, or I would look at the Koso Apollo heated grips with integrated controls.

Thanks - good info to know! I had the Apollo grips on my URAL and they were great. Took a bit to wire up though, and then the wire to the battery disconnected randomly and I had to get in there and fix it.... The Honda plug and play are tempting...

After busting the tabs off my right side cover, I am a bit leery of taking off the rest of the plastics to wire stuff to the battery. I know I just need to get over it and break all the tabs off and then I'll be fine :)

You can connect them, if it were me I would skip the factory blue plug and cut it off and go straight to a crimp connector, or solder. There are only 2 wires and it's easy. Seal it with heat shrink tubing at the end. Or electrician tape.
Be sure to add a suitable fuse to the positive terminal.
It should be noted that the power is calculated. If it is too high, I worry about burning the wires.

Thanks George - I will do that.

So for the 'suitable fuse' that would be on the hot power wire, correct? And what amp fuse would be recommended?
