SP Takegawa Rack and Givi S250 Toolbox Mounted

Thanks. I have a toolbox relocation kit that I will install after I've had a chance to paint it glossy black. The stock toolbox can then serve as the sunglasses holder it has always wanted to be.

SP Takegawa Rack and Givi S250 Toolbox Mounted

I used the SP Takegawa rack to mount a Givi S250 Toolbox and I'm very pleased with how it turned out. This toolbox was chosen because of how naturally its shape fits the available space. The plastic construction is very high density and would probably survive being driven over by a truck without...

    Battery Dead

Could be the kill switch is not set to run. Easy to overlook for a new operator. If it won't kickstart then something is going on that won't be fixed by a fully charged battery.

    Oil Change + Washer

I just misremembered what my bike was like when new I guess. Thanks for pointing it out. Gotta go drain some oil out of my bike now!

    Engine Assembly at factory

The part where they pressurize the crank case and submerge the engine to check for leaks is quite surprising as well.

Diablo crash bar with RIGID Radiance lights and PIAA mounts

That's a mean looking crash bar and the lights look just the right size for it. Nicely done!

    STEDI ST4K Light Bar Installed

I thought I did help you! What else do I gotta do? lol The cable clamps will hold it secure(they will not fail). I think it will vibrate/bounce around a little. It's a very clever improvised solution, easy to try, and very cheap and non-descrutive if it doesn't work out.

    Mirror extensions

Damn you guys for calling my attention to a thing I didn't know I had to have! I've had the Takegawa side rack in my shopping cart debating if I should use it to mount a Yeti bag in this space. I'm going to see if I can make it work with this toolbox. The shape of this box makes it look like it...

    STEDI ST4K Light Bar Installed

Much more subtle look with the black screws. I liked it okay before but now I love it. What do you guys think?

    Added Lighting Project

I think reducing those mounts 1/2 may look funny(you could wrap the bar in electrical tape or a piece of innertube). Sounds like you aren't very confident about fabricating a mount. So I think your "cable clips" idea may be your best bet. Mount them in opposite directions(screws facing inward on...

    Oil Change + Washer

Lay the bike flat on its side on the grass(so as not to scratch) with the oil filler cap side up. You can remove the plug without losing any oil. I have done this. It was a little sad to see the bike layed down like an injured horse. But we both recovered fine once it was over.

    Fumoto Drain valve

Looks very convenient. I am a klutz when it comes to oil changes and no matter how hard I try I end up making a mess. But I don't want to give up this:

    Headlight Wires?

Harv, Sounds like a few different issues here. First, it seems like you are trying to use the "white wire" to trigger a 12v relay and I don't expect that to work as you intend if the voltage doesn't drop sub 6v(it should really be sub 2v to work reliably) when the high beams are off(allowing the...

    STEDI ST4K Light Bar Installed

Here is an illustration of the general approach I would take to mount something on the Honda rack. On the right is a mount using the threads built-in to the Honda rack. On the left is how I would do it if I was drilling through the sheet metal of the Honda rack to create new mount points. The...

What type of chain does the Honda Trail 125 use?

I've heard it said that sealed chains(O,X,Z types) have more resistance in their movement than regular chains and that for small engines it can noticeably sap the power. I have been hesitant to install a sealed chain for this reason.

    STEDI ST4K Light Bar Installed

For the rings mounted to the bottom bridge(right above the fork boot) I used 50mm low profile socket head screws with 15mm spacers. That is the ring position I find most useful for tying to a motorcycle trailer. I used 40mm screws and a 6mm spacers on the top bridge. I haven't had any reason to...

    STEDI ST4K Light Bar Installed

2.5 Amps at 13.6 V according to STEDI.

Aux lights and relays - Enter at your own risk...

That's right. If you have 16 gauge or thicker wire then 5A would be a fine choice.

Aux lights and relays - Enter at your own risk...

A fuse is certainly the best practice. It would go between the black/yellow and the relay. Close to the tap end is best.

Aux lights and relays - Enter at your own risk...

There are three beams in the headlight. Position(the halo), low and high. Position is always on when ignition is on. Low is always on when engine is running. High is on when engine is running and HB switch is on. So your amber will be on in concert with the Pos beam, except when you switch on...
