3000 miles in, am i flogging this bike?

well i can pretty much fix the super cub issue by changing the sprockets to match hers. i've already been considering this. that's not such a big deal. i'm just worried about how much stress i'm putting on the bike. It's a great machine and I love it, but I don't love it enough to constantly...

3000 miles in, am i flogging this bike?

interesting!! i have not noticed any change at all in how the bike shifts. i've always been pretty impressed with how it just slaps the gears in so reliably in fact. this is under my typically heavy-handed operation, engine braking, rev matching, and all that. as of fnow it never misses a gear...

3000 miles in, am i flogging this bike?

I'm not familiar with the adjustments needed for an autoclutch. I haven't had to do anything like that yet or noticed any change in the operation of the autoclutch. What would it feel like if it needed adjustment?

3000 miles in, am i flogging this bike?

I change and check the oil frequently...more frequently than i need to according to the manual since the oil quantity is so small it's no big deal. no sparkly oil....yet.... I'm aware parts are cheap but i really really really don't want to be cracking open a motor for any reason. I certainly...

3000 miles in, am i flogging this bike?

It's come to my attention as i cross the 3000 mile barrier on this little machine that I may be overworking it.... I'm a 220 lb guy, 6 feet tall, and the bike is very comfortable for me, but i'm beginning to worry that i'm not very comfortable for the bike. when i ride this thing it's wide open...

Who buys these Trail 125's ???

Utility overseas and southeast asia aside, North Americans still buy these bikes because they're just straight up fun. There's an entire community of people who are passionate about small bore motorcycles and things like a CT125 are still very useful to anybody who commutes 10 or 15 miles on a...

Which one of you did i spot?

Going through my videos of a weekend trip i took to western NC, I Noticed that I actually buzzed by a Trail 125 and a CRF300 while on Bat Cave Rd. This occurred at around 10 to 1030am on Sunday 05/29 about a minute down the road from the mountain gateway sign. If this is you on the video below...

First service and first shipment of functional farkles completed!

The bike finally turned over 600 miles, and its time for a quart of HP4! I completed the first service and also installed all the functional farkles from my first shipment of parts Front fender lift kit! This is in anticipation of the larger tires ill get once the OEM tires wear out. Also it...

Honda back at it again with a new contender

The other factor to consider is that almost nobody is doing r&d for any new gas motors of any kind. Were entering an age now where manufacturers are just going to continue to put existing (sometimes really old, like the ninja 650 twin) motors into all new bikes with minor tweaks at best. All r&d...

Honda back at it again with a new contender

This both welcome and puzzling news. Seemingly just a Monkey with the autoclutch. I wonder what the advantages are?

Why add accessory crashbars / engine guards?

I never thought about the snagging hazard, that's a good point. My first instinct was that id like to add them because I have very little experience riding off road and I like to protect my assets, so I figured a good set of crash protection would mitigate expensive cosmetic damage to the actual...

Slow speed turns on bike without a hand-operated clutch

You dont really need a friction zone because you can't stall this little donkey. Just drag your year brake, modulate throttle, and lean, and point your chin and your eyes hard in the direction you want to go. Chin over wrist. You can make some wicked tight little figure 8s and uturns with this bike.

    Expensive tire swap?

OP: if iunderstand your story correctly, it sounds like you took the whole bike in to have the tire change done? Most folks just bring the wheels. Its usually quite a lot less when you do that.

    2 ct125 at dealer. Dealer asked $6250. I walked.

Good for you. It falls on all of us to just turn our backs on that kind of gouging. Everytime somebody caves and pays that price it just justifies the villainy.

    #006 700 mile update

what i love most about this bike is that it gives people an opportunity to put a full yoshi system on a farm donkey. the world is a beautiful place.
