13 tooth sprocket. Just my opinion…

As another option, Takegawa just announced some new products including speedometer controller kits for the CT125. I suspect they will be available on Webike soon.
JA55 product number 05-06-0065
JA65 product number 05-06-0064

The setting method is to use the push switch provided on the speedometer controller body, and it is possible to correct the displayed speed in the range of -60% to +60% of the normal ratio. Corrections can be made in 1% increments.

I did the 13 tooth (JA65), and I GPS's it today... same exact top speed on the same roads as stock, but a noticeable improvement in ability to maintain speed on hills, we don't really have hills in Florida, just pretend hills, but enough to bog it down stock. However, I really dislike the speed/odo not reading accurately. I would really like the gauge cluster to be close to accurate (working on a solution for that). I want to keep pretty close tabs on gas mileage just for the heck of it, so I need accurate data.
My truck has wheels and tires a bit bigger than stock. Used a gps to figure out the true speed. 8% off, simple math in my old noggen gets close enough for government work from there ;)

This should have been the stock gearing from the factory. Your results match mine exactly, no loss of top speed but a lot more usable power. It matches the "original" CT's gearing in Hi speed.

Well, not sure it's that simple. For the Mini-Motos, it might be nice if the dealer would figure out if the rider is over say 125 or under 125... for the younger crowd, the 14 tooth might be just fine. When I owned my original trail-90... I was 75lbs soaking wet... not so much anymore. But given the small displacement of these bikes it might be good if dealers would do some added value and tweak the gearing to the intended rider... For grown adults of the American variety I suspect the 13 tooth is what's needed, but the minute you do that, the gauge cluster needs help... so it's a can of worms I guess.
